Looking pretty darned good to me, Craig - the level of detail you've got going on there is just bonkers but the model looks superb for it. Certainly looks like time well spent. This is great!

It looks very good.
Is that Radiosity Interpolated? (it looks like interpolated) And what settings do you use?

Thanks guys, I'll post more updates soon.... before long the texturing starts :) These are the settings used for radiosity, as you can see its Montecarlo, not interpolated.

Cheers!

Superb bit of work there Craig...

Fallenswordsman 18-09-2003 06:32 AM

Yep, this looks excellent alright! Well done on getting it finished!

CAClark 18-09-2003 10:37 AM

hehe, its not quite finsihed yet, gemotry is almost done though, then to texturing. I want to use fully custom maps and avoid any kind of tiles repeating panels.

Cheers!

It a bit of a shame that the last shot is from beneath... all the nifty stuff on top of the model cant be seen :)

CAClark 22-09-2003 01:11 AM

If you go to www.threewaystudios.com and go to 'portfolio' and then 'projects' you'll see it in there, and there are a good few clear renders plus wireframes :)

Cheers!

General Question

There is a book called... Inside lightwave 7.0.. WOuld you guys recommend that for someone who is not so savvy in 3d apps.. I am just starting out and could use all the help i can get..though I feel like i started to late..lol
Any or sugestions would be appreciated

Dan Ablan's Inside Lightwave books are probably the best complement to the Newtek manuals you can get. They should definitely be a part of your Lightwave Bookshelf.

Also, check out the free tutorials here on SLW. You won't find better (and more reasonably priced) video tutes anywhere on the internet.

I think there are to main schools of learning, one is to follow books and do tutorials, the other is just to teach yourself.

I personally have never used any of these books, I bought Inside Lightwave 6, but never actually used it, which was odd in a way having bought it. Newteks manuals don't really teach you much, so everything I learned I just sat and taught myself through trial, error, and experiemntaiton.

Cheers!
