Test render of the opening scene, playing about with DoF and Zoom factors at the moment....

Looks great man, watch the render times with depth of field.

Are you going to put some stuff in the fire?

Other than that, hope your stuff gets shown at the end of year show.

Hey folks,

This is the final test render before i start cranking out the (start) of the finished piece. I've not finished animating yet, but if I dont start redering now then i won't get it dont in time. Ditched DoF in favour of Digital Confusion, gives a much nicer effect and doesnt throw my Sas all over the place!
8m44sec on En-Low

very nice, good looking render

I am glad to see an artist creating scenes of the South American indigenous tribes.

Keep up the excellent work KrisYoung!!!

Cheers

Looking great man nice render too, when I used digital confusion it looked ok in a still but i had alot of problems with it when animating with it, have you rendered out any animation with it yet?

KrisYoung1980 19-04-2005 04:06 PM

Hey,

Simple - I did a couple of tests, nothing major. What kind of problems have you been having with it?... My monitor went on fire today, but I don't think it was the digital confusion ;)

Zeno - Cheers for the support and for posting too, you're the 1st person to post on this thread that isn't on my course :D

The problems I had with digital confusion? Well a number of them,

1. when an object moved between the blured areas it showed a clean line between the blur area and the focused area. As though I had blurred around a selection.

2. It went too blurred instead of slight out of focus , it was more like a gausian blur in photoshop, I guess this is to be expected as it is a pixel shader.

Well the other stuff I had problem with I fixed, but it ended up I just rendered my thing with no blur and motion blur on.

Nevermind hope it works out alright for you though.

Keep us posted.

Hello again,
Heres a still of the drummers, just realised i hadn't put them up yet (It's distorted coz of the camera zoom, looks a bit dodgy as a still, but works in the anim)
