Looking very nice...hee hee - now lets see some roof tiles ;)

KrisYoung1980 23-10-2005 11:05 AM

Strange you should say that Fallen, I was just toying with the idea of modelling them individually.... maybe ;)

Fallenswordsman 23-10-2005 04:53 PM

Actually, joking aside, you may well be able to create them using the clone tool, just as long as you know the measurements of each tile and can get a decent enough crossover, then it might look pretty good with fairly minimal effort - the only problems will come when you hit corners.

Started messing about with some textures - roof looks well dodgy, but i've fixed that now, just cant be botherered re-rendering so you'll just have to trust me ;)
Really havent done too much except slap them on so I'll be tweaking settings for the next wee while...

davie563 02-11-2005 09:53 PM

:p cool :p

Im workin on my textures the now aswell, its really hard the texturing bit :headbang:

Lookin cool :p

Looks like a Golf Club House :p

Fallenswordsman 03-11-2005 07:22 AM

Yep, looking very nice - I know it would probably drive up poly count to stupid proportions but it would be nice to see some proper grass :)

KrisYoung1980 03-11-2005 08:33 AM

Never fear! The groundplane is just a placeholder as I haven't modelled the landscape (or the interior) yet, it's next on the list to do, but I couldn't be bothered last night - hence the texturing...

bullet_evader 03-11-2005 12:49 PM

The textures are repeating to much. try to give them some more variation.

KrisYoung1980 03-11-2005 01:14 PM

Yeah it is a bit too tiled really isnt it, I was thinking about painting up some custom textures but i'm a bit of a photoshop numpty, might give it a go anyway...

kilvano 03-11-2005 03:09 PM

Try some of the dirt maps on it too. May make it look a bit more realistic.

Even just random it up a bit more! There's lines of darker bricks going round the building, maybe look better if they were a bit more scattered.
I thought though that it looked good before the texture, kind of reminded me of Whitehouse type walls! You went a bit more old looking materials than I thought the building looked by it's shape. Still no bad though.
Maybe the pillars look a bit out of place with they textures too.

Had a complete nightmare and had to remodel the entire building exterior because of various school boy errors so I'm sick fed up of it, instead I've been working on the interior. Textures still need to have detail put in them. Its based on a tutorial for mansion halls thats floating aobut on the web as I'm sure most of you recognise although I have modded it a fair bit...

davie563 15-11-2005 09:19 PM

Nice to see some pics from u again..... :p

It looks nice. With some dirt/bump maps on it it will help make it look real

Keep it comin

The floor thou, im not to keen on it, just dosent fit or follow a patern

KrisYoung1980 15-11-2005 10:02 PM

Yeah, the floor is pretty much a place holder til I work out what i want to do, the tute has parquet flooring down, I'm not sure how heavily penalised I'd be if I used that... As far as dirt maps etc go, thats the detail I'm talking about, still trying to plan it all out, just thought I'd better post something so everyone knows im still alive! ;)
