Awesome renders :)
Did you redo the side mirrors? In one of the previous renders it shows that you finished attaching it to the car. |
how did you make the grate under the license plate? Did u use polys or a transparency map???
|
Well... about the side mirrors... Yes... I´m making them again, but just the part where it fits with the door...
about the grate... it´s a texture and a transparency map applied... the same with the front and the back... BTW and as a clue... my license ID keyword is on the plate, so there are the first letters of my name and my birthday... (also a little reference of my country´s flag...) take care guys!!! (i´m working on the windows frame rubbers... those that hold the glasses...) |
well.. finally an update

here you can see some interiors...

awesome stuff !
i'd kill for a screenshot at the materials used in this scene...any chance of making me happy ? i'm just curious..mine looks good on a side and realy burned on the other... |
well... i just set the color i like (obviously the blue) and make it 10% reflective but with an sperical+ray traced enviromen (crome.tga at the images/reflections folder at lighwave`s instalation folder) and that`s it... u don`t need to set up a scenery backdrop and just take care of ilumination... Use some backdrop radiosity (play with it) and I think that`s all...
take care man! thanks for posting! |

well...
just a little render with different color... |
looking good the red colour kind of gets lost with the floor maybe trying different colours how did you make the lights can you point me to any tutorials because i am struggling with that bit on my BMW
|
well... at this point I'm gonna say that there's no light in this scene... or at least not a common light...
I compose the virtual room with those white lines as luminose... about 150- 200% luminose, also I turn interpolated radiosity on and set it to 20% (rad intensity) and 30% (ambient intensity) and that's it... you can add some luminose meshes and point them towards you car... be sure to turn "shading noise reduction" on... and at least low AA... read you later guys! |
i meant the lights on the car, you know the head lights but thanks for the lighting setup anyway
Thanks Rob |
wellll... after a long long time...

about the lights
********* HEY sspikedudley!!! I just get the basic shape and render it as a chrome material... that's all... U might notice that I use reflection maps on almost every reflective thing... as a Raytracing+spherical map set up... I also make the exterior glass of the headlights at 60% spec, 40% gloss, 50% reflective and 50 diffuse with a black color... That's all... it also depends so much of the ambientation u've got... something that I use to tweak a lot...******** CHEERS MAN!!! |
1 Attachment(s)
I FORGOT TO SAY!!! that exterior glass of the headlights is 85% transparent...
BTW i did not use radiosity with the last picture... it took like 3 minutes to render in a very slow pc... I just found the way on other forum... wanna guess? |

after a long time of experimentation I found the way to get faster renders with nice illumination and nice quality... also a weird look...
here's what I've done so far... no updates for the mesh yet... but stay tunned... |

another cool render for you guys...
|
Mmmm - car. Just one niggle is that none of your glass looks quite glassy to me. Beautiful renders though.
|
Very nice. I see what Fallenswordsman means about the glass though. I'd up the transparency some more and really tighten those specular highlights on the glass surfaces to try and make it look a litte more real.

well.... I really wanted it to look real... but the interior is not finished yet...
