And Windows ME has the Window Movie Maker. One thing though the finished product is really distorted.

Hmm,, can agree that someone that are new to 3D or LW might find an animation competition a tad difficult,,, but me personally its a welcomed one as modelling all the time can get you tired.

I never had problems with the Windows Movie Maker,,, hmm,,, wonder what you mean?

Must be my computer then :S Probably because of the sources that my PC lacks.

Will we be able to cut the sound clips and add spaces between them to make the movie a littl longer? Will we be allowed to add other sounds? eg: doors opening, footsteps, etc.

mtmckinley 04-07-2004 02:47 PM

no.

colto 04-07-2004 06:27 PM

no to cutting the sounds up, adding sounds, or both?

mtmckinley 04-07-2004 06:56 PM

both. Use what is provided only.

colto 05-07-2004 06:46 AM

Are there any other things that u can do to get extra points besides facial animation? eg: textured, particle effects, having some sort of intro to ur movie outside of the sound clip? Just trying to get every little extra point that I can! ;)

if your having problems getting the two kinds of metal to work try using this file instead ;)

if anyones got problems with the ghostbuster soundclip i'll do it to that too

mtmckinley 05-07-2004 12:30 PM

the quality of the animation is the only judging factor. Well, that and the applicability to the chosen audio. Heh, if you just have a nice walkcycle going on during the course of the audio, that kinda defeats the point.

Noratio 05-07-2004 06:28 PM

Tryly a mountain to climb, just made my frst walkcycles in LW yesterday, about facemorphs nor audioimporting to LW I know nothing. At least I need audiofile in LW for sync. For this I would need a new character too. Count me in as a dummy noobie. Is all rendering to be done in LW?

Doesn't necessarily have to be, I suppose. How else would you do it?

Noratio 05-07-2004 07:36 PM

I've got ready rigged characters in Motion Sudio/ Truespace, bought LW8 only two monts ago, and been busy that time. My goal would do all in LW but in case of deadline rush would working face rigs with sliders and familiar audio sollution would help a lot...back to storyboarding and scetching.

mtmckinley 05-07-2004 10:17 PM

hmm, I suppose that should be ok.

colto 06-07-2004 04:48 AM

One more quick question Mike. Do u consider Motion Designer work to be animation or would that be a waste of time?
