Well this took me forever but i like the outcomes.

Q. How can i copy frames in Layout?

kumar 06-02-2004 02:41 PM

Nice, smooth too. Needs more texturing though.

R4s1n 06-02-2004 03:01 PM

I hate texturing and if i have time at the end then i'll texturing him up a bit.

I presume you mean to copy a frame to another place in the same animation?

If so, simply scrub the slider to the frame you want to copy, hit Enter once, and in the 'Create Keyframe' dialog, simply enter the frame number you want to copy the frame to.

Different kind of death...

kumar 08-02-2004 10:34 AM

Nice, like the first death better.

R4s1n 08-02-2004 07:08 PM

Im going to redo the second death scene since im not too impressed by it. hopefully post an update by tonight.

kumar 09-02-2004 07:59 AM

Hmm,, all this flash work,,, really makes no time for lightwave.... Man, i am busier by the day... Hope i have time to do changes and stuff to mine too. :(

voices3d 09-02-2004 04:05 PM

i like the new design. :D I tryed to make it look like a mechwarior, but it looked like some mutadet Walker from StarWars :S

Dude your mech/mutated warrior was awesome, unfortunately you stopped working on it.

Another small update: making an environment for my mech.

Hi there dude,,,, any updates?

R4s1n 18-02-2004 10:57 AM

Im trying out some effects with plugins so hopefully i'll post something later on. I don't know if i'll be able to fully finish the animation. If not then i'll start a thread in the WIP section.
Cheers.

kumar 18-02-2004 01:25 PM

oooo,,, what plugins....??? what effects?

R4s1n 19-02-2004 12:23 AM

Well to start off im trying to learn how to use: C4, SG_Explosion, and PG_Melt

I have made my low-poly mech into a high-poly model since the melting option only works with subD.

Time is unfortunately against me :(

kumar 19-02-2004 02:01 AM

OH,,,, interesting,,,, cheer up man.

R4s1n 27-02-2004 11:26 AM

Ran into a problem with PG_Melt and SG_Explosion. One will only work with SubD, while the other one will only work without SubD.

I think i will ditch the plugins and work on the final render. I'm sure i'll get something finished for the final date.

Cheers!

kumar 27-02-2004 12:34 PM

Thats sad to hear, but will wait for your final render.

This might be my final render. Still have to add AA. Maybe i'll add some other stuff in.

Mark 28-02-2004 10:23 AM

I'd switch off shadows for the laser beam objects to make it look a little more realistic. If anything, these look as though they should be acting as tiny light sources in themselves.

kumar 28-02-2004 11:15 AM

Cool,,,, nice,,, but agree with mark about the shadow, and the laser looks thick for me,,, maybe try a 2point poly,,, or try to texture,,, a slight turbulance will be nice,,, a nice laser i found was in the content directory when i installed lightwave.... Man there are so many interesting stuff.

R4s1n 29-02-2004 03:16 AM

Thanx Guys!

@ Mark - How do I add a light source within each laser?

@ Kumar - I have different types of procedurals on all the lasers.

Also what did you mean by '2point poly'?

kumar 29-02-2004 04:44 AM

Hmm, guess if you have the proced on then its ok,,,, but i find the laser a tad big and the proced dont quite show up,,,, a 2point poly is like thin.,,,, only 2 vertex... and when you apply the glow and stuff looks cool.... well i used that for lightning and stuff... guess i try to get you a screen shot of this one scene thats on the content directory.

The Surface Settings

1 Attachment(s)
Here is the surface settings. Of course the glow and other things you can add to get a better result... right;) Oh ya remember that this one has 2 cylinders,,, one out the other smaller called in... Gives a nice result and render times are great too.. Not much diff on the surface part except for color.. :D

Mark 29-02-2004 11:51 AM

You really don't want to be thinking about adding lights within each laser - would take forever. Simply crank up the luminosity on the surface, and add a little glow. Also switch off shadow casting for those surfaces.

improved some stuff
- less glow more Luminosity
- added procedurals to transparency textures- got rid of shadows
-turned off the saslite for a test render

please tell me what you think i should add to it.

kumar 01-03-2004 02:28 AM

Looking better..... but i am thinking.... you are cutting it close... ;)
