Very nice cyborg. Im doing the same project at Simplymaya, im even doing a robot too, you shoudl check it out. I think you need to register there to see though. You might get some ideas. It looks good though, a lot better than i could do with LW...

R4s1n 24-01-2004 09:46 PM

Thanx for the comment twistedDragon, I am registered in SM and sometimes i lurk in the shadows and check out the challenges there,
Pretty amazing stuff there since a lot of them are pros...

Unfotunately for my cyborg i came to a halt becuase the torso is becoming a problem. The arms and legs seems too long and the torso is not fitting as i had hoped it would, but ill keep on trying:)

kumar 26-01-2004 06:58 AM

Hmm, think i should also register,,,, if i find the time,,,hehe Anyway R4s1n how is the torso going? How is the progress so far?

R4s1n 26-01-2004 10:53 AM

i don't think i'll be able to continue with my guy. If anything i might need to start over. It sucks but i still can't put all the pieces together.

But i will post my sketches this weeks, my friend told me that he already has them scanned, so he's going to send them to me and then i'll post them here.

i wanna se the sceches. but dont give up on it. I like the style of it. :)

TwistedDragon33 26-01-2004 06:57 PM

im haing the same problem with my robot... cant irgue out how to attatch the shoulder to torso and hip to groin. it gets ery troublesome but i think i finally fodn a way throguh it.i suggest checking out some robitics websites. they usualy have one semi humanoid robot you can get inspired from.

Zyk0tiK 26-01-2004 07:06 PM

just a question... how is his arms and legs going to bend? there is solid metal rods everywhere :|

R4s1n 27-01-2004 12:07 AM

well unfortunately i havent received them yet:( but hopefully tomorrow...

@ Twisted - If you have the time can you post some websites that have helped you. Thanx man

@ Zyk0tik - His arms and legs are going to bend at the part where the spheres are. They are going to act as joints. The part that attaches the two pieces of legs is like elastic/bendy stuff.

I wish i had an imagination :)

kumar 27-01-2004 05:46 AM

Well i do agree,,, dont give up,,, stick with it... Remember, i was going crazy just understanding IK and animation,,, but i will not give up... :) Come on.

Ideas,, You should not worry about attaching the arms and stuff, Robots are metal jointed stuff. Add pistons or something else to make it look real. Or i am thinking in a weird way,,,, detach everything,,, And everything is just floating,,, kind of evil stuff, flame glowing, robot hybrid. The ball joints can have fire. hehe, well think what you can do to make the job easier for you.

it has kind of a 70th kind of look of it. Like one of those kick ass old SciFi movies that still is cool. :D
