That's right, simple....... but effective!!
Let's get some update here, after been talk about Zbrush a lot of time, I decided to give it a try, and I wanna say this app is simply wonderfull... I don't have it, I went to see a friend of mine who does... so I still got some problem with texture and fixing the map (and with the interface!)...but this session of ZBrushing was really a surprise...

hopesfall 06-09-2004 07:15 PM

WOW... what version of Zbrush was this... methinks I may have to look into this.. looks awsome cyroz!!:)

sspikedudley 06-09-2004 08:08 PM

that looks like version 2 to me but if it isn't just tell your friend to get the free upgrade plenty new tools in it to play around with glad someone else has come across to the dark side of texture and displacement maps just be sure that when you bring the model back into lightwave you flip any maps vertically or it gets messed up if you need any ZBRUSH to lightwave help just give me a shout
thanks
Rob

Yes, that's ZB 2...

I did the flip-V exported the color and alpha... but the alpha don't come really nice back to lightwave, and I see seams...
btw, every maps I saw on pixolator were 50% gray (background), mine are white... don't know why... :bored:
Anyway I'll do some more on zb when I could and when my friend would like to too ;)
So of course sspikedudley, if u got any tips ur welcome! :p

ps : I did UV in LWave... didn't use the grid uv from zbrush..

sspikedudley 06-09-2004 08:52 PM

i prefer the ZBRUSH UV setup quick and painless with no loss check out my thread on here for a look at my ZRUSH UV map
first thing i suggest you do is go to www.pixologic.com and download the 20 meg practical guide, it shows you how to set up normal maps and displacement maps aswell as some nifty tutorails for organic modelling one tutorial actuly dhoes displacemnt and texturing a dinosaur like creature so could be helpful to you
