Kill the SPYWARE!
guys, Im sick of this! lets all do our bit to sort this out, they are ruining the whole internet and are looking at EVERYTHING you do!
download this now, they do tkae donations but you dont have to give: http://security.kolla.de/news.php?lang=en I had 41 intrusion cookies that "report your every move" and 2 registry entrys that where a little more serious. So report you finds back here :) |
42 problems found and that's on my work pc here which i've only had for 2 months. I'll be interested to see what it reports on my home pc later.
The alternative to this is using Ad-Aware which requires a bit less technical knowledge to run.
If you have problems with cookies, you can always go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Then select the Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder when browser is closed tickbox. Sometimes it depends on what you're using the Internet for as well. People using P2P programs tend to get a LOT of spyware bundled free! |

Ad-Aware us also the one i use very easy to setup and run. David. |
Yep - and it's still free!!
I use Ad Aware as well. Put it on most of the computers around the office. The record is 204 items from the receptionist's computer.

I think it more likely she is one of those people that forward links to everyone under the sun. You know the ones people send out saying you MUST see this and all it ends up being is a flash animation with a dancing squirrel or singing baby. If I had my way, she would be 'made redundant' as you guys say.
Thanks. I tried Ad-Aware and it found 511 items. Sheesh.
And Leovenous shatters the record for amount of spyware found on a single computer!:D
will it do anything to the computer if you delete all the spyware, because ive had it for a while and i dont really know how to use it
i meant to post that i had Ad-Aware for while not spy ware
You want to delete Ad Aware? You should be able to remove it without any problems but I would keep it and learn how to use it.
All you have to do is: 1 - start the program 2 - click the 'check for updates now' link and download any new updates offered, 3 - press start. 4 - Set your type of scan. I scan at default with in-depth scan turned on. 5 - Hit next. It will scan the entire computer for spyware. 6 - When you hear a noise that sounds like a frog with bad gas, it is finished. 7 - You will get a list of all the crap it found. Right click and choose select all. 8 - Hit continue or finish or whatever the arrow is called and it will confirm you want to remove all the items. Unless you are insane, hit yes. That's it. |
I like Spybot Search and destory. I have used that and Ad-Aware for a long time to keep my comp free.
I tried spy bot, search and destroy for a while, but I must have had a setting wrong, or it didnt like win2000 or something cause it got carried away with the destroy part.
