Come on - reply?

trentonia 23-12-2003 09:52 PM

Very interesting approach for the message. One thing, shouldn't Jesus have changed the water into Mogen David or some other kind of kosher wine? Way to go. Merry CHRIST mass.

chrispo 23-12-2003 11:20 PM

Yey! - Since I've posted this anim I've had 150 downloads - Cheers Guys! (yet only one of you were good enough to reply!).

I was thinking of adding more shots where the wine bottle is smashed by the bullet and JC brush's the dust from his clothes, then santa jumps into a sleigh and you hear the wicked witch of the west theme...?

My Dad is going to play it at our church on Sunday. Might be a laugh, might not be...

Claudio 25-12-2003 12:41 AM

Hello Chrispo, sorry for that.... I should replay but I didn't.... I enjoyed very much and was well done. Unfortunately I had problems with my computer that I could not have audio.

Great job.

Leovenous 25-12-2003 01:43 AM

I loaded it up but it wont play right. I get the audio but the video freezes.

chrispo 25-12-2003 11:11 AM

Thats weird, its divx? Is that a problem?

The direct link to the file is www.sadi.org.uk/short.avi
right click it and save to the desktop...

Merry Christmas

leroy3rd 26-12-2003 04:41 AM

Hahaha... hahahahaha! Man, that is crazy-funny! When are you going to enlighten the "masses" (i.e. pathectic noobs like me) with a tutorial on your stylized modeling techniques? :)

Turbo-Dan 28-12-2003 08:04 PM

wow, such a good animation.
very well done.
the sound effects and background music were very well thought out.
the matrix thing is a bit worn out, but nonetheless, great vid.

chrispo 04-01-2004 10:13 AM

cheers - Im new to 3d, and sfx is not a biggy with me... It took 3 weeks to make to enter a competition in 3dfightclub.com.

The_Kidd 05-01-2004 02:33 PM

Great concept chrispo! Glad you have the 'guts' to bring you message to life. Besides Christmas has become a little too commercial in the Santa Claus sense. I still dig Santa but come on people, more often than not the true meaning of/for Christmas always falls by the wayside...Again great effort!

chrispo 05-01-2004 03:18 PM

cheers man. Im working real hard on another

CMP 2003 08-01-2004 01:29 AM

H.I.O.M 08-01-2004 01:51 PM

Great animation man :):):) and great message to

chrispo 08-01-2004 04:14 PM

lol - You guys are cool, I thought it might offend.

CMP 2003 08-01-2004 07:11 PM

Actually something that quite suprised me,

I looked through a search engine for companies that do custom 3D animations,
almost 80% of the companies were christian organizations
cool huh?

chrispo 09-01-2004 11:11 AM

God is a creative dude, look what he done in 7 days!

H.I.O.M 09-01-2004 11:20 AM

That could mean that most of the members here might be christian...

chrispo 09-01-2004 05:01 PM

Even better, though once someone who has a strong view stumbles over this thread there will be hell to pay!

So - To all you fellow JC lovers - HAIL!

(thats the end of it Mods!)

Leovenous 09-01-2004 09:35 PM

I like your creativity... some good camera work too. But I see another message that is not good.

You trivialize Christ by making Him a streetside side show. So on the one had you say He is indespensible, and on they other you say He's a performer. I don't really jive with that. It basically falls under blasphemy, really.

Be careful. You can certianly have comedy and laughs, but not at the expense of Jesus' majesty.

It's encouraging to see so many Christians actively involved in this site! I'm just starting out with Lightwave (am working through 2 different books... I just animated a cube... ;) ) and can't wait to be at a level where I can pick your brains for tips, tricks, and insight to make my modeling better. As a side note, I've attatched a picture I made for a Christian band called "Desert Rain". Made it about nine months ago completely in Bryce. After working with Bryce for too long, I decided it was time I took a step into the "deep end" of 3D modeling, and that's when I started with Lightwave. Right now I'm pretty much just lurking on this forum, but I hope to have things to post soon-ish. :)

Hmm... no pic in last one... I guess that's what I get for trying to preview a post...

CMP 2003 11-01-2004 04:34 PM

I love the compositions you do, (environments and stuff) the look really good , and the normal stuff is original, a quality trait in 3D

Johnny9ball 11-01-2004 06:35 PM

I really like that Leroy it has a very illustrative look to it.

chrispo 12-01-2004 08:41 AM

Hey, Leovenous - If you were to link to my site www.thirddayimage.com you would read my idea on the short. I dont want to make Jesus out to be all Holy - We all know who He is, I just wanted to paint a picture of Him still doing miricles today. But I wanted to keep it fun. My music is too dark for the actual peice. It removes the humour, my fault as I only had a few nights to put it all together in the edit to comptete.

Im currently making a new movie (30mins) that I hope to get on the God Channel over here, though its not funny at all. I'll have to develop a new style of character. Keep you posted?

leroy3rd 12-01-2004 03:40 PM

Yeah! Keep us ALL posted!
