Ok, first i was into the idea of creating the typical computer geek.... (me) so i started on my face, but crap... i wont wanna spend the rest of the challenge creating something that is supposed to look like hair, and the porobobly cona look like a bad lawn. oh well, so i took my head and made it. well, started kaking it allitle Robotic :). So this is the first model of the beginning. Its 4 in the morning, but i cant let it go when i got the creating spirit :D

ok, we got another one :) moahaha
neat! Looks like a crash test dummy or something. :) Looking forward to it!
hehe, it does, dosent it :) hehe, i might just have to place a crash test dummy mark in his forehead :D
heh heh. I like the idea. Might be cool to make the elements you have now actually a mask over a psycho type killer or something, rather than the first thing that comes to mind, that being a robot.
Would be kind of spooky, like the bad guy in the Halloween movies. |

hmm... a little detail cant hurt, can it? :)
hehe, yea. true. but just wait , i am working on the eyes now, its a little terminator inspierd, and its gona be full of cables all over :D

simply a textured base model
wow.. great work voices, looks like a mix between terminator and data! :)
Man, thats so cool, like the texturing too,,, is it UV or proced...? Care to share it..??? Hehehe :)
It looks scary
The texture is just planar maps. for the face, sides, back and top. and bumpmap. I am gona make the body, well, lets just say out of the ordinary, like a spider or a bug thingy :p i will show you later :)
Cool thats a strange idea,,, but do show the surface. The bumpmaps are really nice. A screen shot or explanation will be much appreaciated....:)

sure thing. here it is
Tut! Bad Voices, naughty Voices - switch off that texture AA right this instant. It'll only ruin your renders when you add scene wide AA later. :D
Cool thanks Voices.
realy? i dident know that, :p. I will switch it of :) thank you
Freaky stuff there:)
One thing that i think you should get rid off is the ears...considering its not a person...but that's your choice:) |
crap. i managed to delete my base model :|... i am soooo pissed that smoke comes out from my ears. But i restarted everything. i still have the computer geek idea. But i will post a picture as soon as posible, this is gona be tight. just one month left. :o
It looked really cool...to bad you managed to deleted it :(
Oh, man thats got to hurt, Really was looking forward to seeing him textured and all.
Sorry to hear that. One thing you might want to get in the habit of is saving in stages.
Oh ya mike i think that you are right,,, i even save different stages of scenes. Think that Lightwave 8 has something like that to automate it.
yea, hehe, the most anoyting moment was when i had been working on a 3d project for 10 houers non stop. and i accidently restared my computer with my foot (it was standing on the floor). that made me... .well... unhappy. hehe :)
Hehe, you know something, i start mine like that too,, :) but i do have stoppers and stuff to prevent such things.... Guess i too have to be careful hehehe. But a network or attached external storage is a good thing.. Like what i have.... Hmmm the 200gb hardisk is what i am eyeing. Next,,, Maxtor, external backup.... *starts to drool*
lol
yeah, I've done something similar before... I had accidently kicked my surge protector, shutting it off... and thus everything hooked to it. :p
Nowadays the hardware is like dropping in prices.... All except the one piece 1Gb Ram,,,, the guy at the store said it was 400 US
the 512 ones are cheaper... Need to get the surge too *wondering away* |

ok, first test render. the hands are still a work in progress, the thumb looks upside down. :P
like I told you on msn, great work.. he really does look like a first class nerd hehe :) nerds are beginning to be something of your specialty right? ;) ;)
one thing though.. it kind looks like the shirt is glued to the body.. or maybe its just a very tight shirt what do I know :o
Well,,, ya, near the upper arm and near the neck... guess you need to give him some thickness there. Other than that,,, Love the glasses.... Love your trademark of the toyish look. Very catchy. :)
hmmm.... yepp. thats my specialty and i ....wait a minute, what are you refering to ;). hehe. The main idea is to have him sit behind a cute little desk with a cute little cumputer, attached to a cute big killing mnonster :D
Great idea,,, short time,,, if you intended to animate him... Hmm,, how about,,,, the beast is sleeping,, he logs into the simplylightwave.com website and slowly the beast awakens.... When he clicks on Attack... The beast which is chained,,, starts to run with the computer and the geek flying behind him
haha.... that could work. wait, i got the best idea :D he sits with his computer, and models the beast in LightWave,,, and he finds a new button. "print out model", *klick*, but the printer dosent react, suddenly he hears this strange growling noice, and the beast is right infont of him. :)

i just had to put this up :)
Nice, textures.
Excellent job on the face!
I wonder what kind of hair-do you are going to give him:) |
hair? what are you talking about? :p... hehe, well.. ok, some hair might be good. Well, he is a computer geek, and as many computer geeks he is a slacker. so how many slackers spend time at a hair cutter dude when you can trim it all of in some few minutes, its gona be real short.
