So here is the update. I feel really comfortable with it and guess I wont change much, unless you guys are going to shoot me, maybe then I'll change something |

Looks cool!
A couple comments though... the atmosphere's glow is a bit to big, the world is missing clouds, and the lighting could have a little more contrast, and there seems to be one of theose "things" (what ever they are) in the planet with three legs sticking out. :p I like the galaxy in the background, is it a backdrop or is it also made in LW? The flares look squashed which makes me think it's a backdrop that is supposed to be wider. ;) |
Thanks for the comments man, really appreciate it, and yes how could I forget the clouds? They are there, but transparency is turned up too high. Will rework it.I'll also have a look at the atmosphere, you're also right about that?
Yes it is a backdrop, but I havnt changed anythink to it, its the original that way? wozz |

thanks ppl, hope I did it a little as you told me to do, if not, I'll hida behind the curtains wozz |
nice progress wozzyke!
the only thing i dont like at the moment is the dark spots on the earth... v. |
Looks better but there is barley an atmosphere :( .
Now there is a light rim on the other side :p. Do you have the ambient intensity set to 0 (or very low)? I don't know if you have a negetive light there or if you took it out but it's ment to make the dark side of the planet darker. I like the way you can see the aliens better now. |

still not good enough he, well in that case we call our master and let him have a look at the problem. Result: I am a bad 3D artist. Still learning so there will be one day I'll be as good as you guys. Maybe within a 1000 years or so.
Thanks to Philip for showing me the way back to the dark side. comments welcome wozz |
Looking much better Wozz! I suppose the aliens are self iluminated? Cause they are light on the dark side. :p

better composition?
thanks scott wozz |
Hey Wozzyke,
Really cool idea for the theme, and I like the alien beings attacking the planet - they look like some kind of virus invading an animal cell. They're kinda creepy like the Shadows from Babylon5, very arachnid (spider) like. - A,.. |
Nice image, but I'm confused by the lighting suggestions. It seems that it's being suggested that the galaxy in the background should be the light source, rather than an actual sun that the planet revolves around. Am I missing something here?
If there is indeed a sun (not visible in this picture), then the light source should be coming from either the right, the left, or from behind the camera, not from the far side of the planet. |
