OK looks like off the Fender production line.... (absolutly no complaints - followed the whole tut series)

BUT

Stevie Ray's #1 never looked like this (don't take this as any crit- Kevin said "looked like a photo").

How about continuing the tut (Philip said it was complete) and adding the invaluable addons (left hand whamy) and "play-ware".

Can't keep watching the "El Mocambo" DVD.

my very best regards - and undying support

well, I know this is no substitute for a tutorial... but from one SRV fan to another:

try slapping these textures on your strat for a start:
(handpainted them in photoshop)

in the color channel:

bump channel:

also bump (very low opacity), spec and glossiness (adjust the opacity carefully), in the reflection channel as an alpha map:

Phil - you da man. I'd already gotten down to applying the decals to the guitar, and almost finishing off all the tecturing to get a showoom model.

you've now given me a new set of goals to aim for... Namely the used strat. I'm going to try and get a copy of the old Chris Rea Red strat staple and see if I can copy that map accurately...

hehe, why not go for Rory Gallagher's? :D
that'd be hardcore...

Mark 11-03-2004 06:31 AM

lol - Who says I won't ?? :)

awesome! great work and thanks philip!

My humble thanks Philip - the SVR images are just the thing!!!!

(Great work - as usual).

best

Keith

PS Rory Gallagher (then with Taste) played in Edinburgh three times (I think) - each time I was abroad on holiday. All of my friends managed to see the great man.....

I saw him once, about half a year before he died, here in germany. It was awesome. Never seen SRV though...

I never got a chance to either and it is a shame. I drive past the hill they crashed into twice a day.
