Looks good I like the textureing. Some windows would help and the areas where the paint is chipped off should get some dirt because the craft seams kinda weathered. Unless the chips just came off in its last firefight.

CAClark 25-03-2004 11:58 PM

Hey man, I'll be sure to pay more attention to the paint chip areas, thanks.

For those not familiar with the show, or this design, here is a good look see at the entire ship.

Yeah same it looks mad like that.

Fallenswordsman 26-03-2004 07:39 PM

Excellent wires there, Craig. Must remind myself to download some of your models and study the wires more extensively. That is certainly one very impressive piece of modelling.

voices3d 01-04-2004 02:12 PM

awsome model. :D i love it. still.... how did you get your lightwave the way it is?

Sir_Pro_View 01-04-2004 02:30 PM

I asked him the same question Voices. Its not lightwaves layout its a skin for Windows XP I found it but I can't seem to get it to work on my system.

voices3d 01-04-2004 03:58 PM

a friend told me some hour ago, you can use the StyleXP program.

Sir_Pro_View 01-04-2004 05:35 PM

is that a program you download or is it build into xp that I don't know about?

simple 01-04-2004 07:44 PM

Well all i can say is thats totally impressive, am kinda new to lightwave and that tells me what its capable of.

Although i think i`ll wait till my computers a bit better, hehe.

SHOCKWAVE 05-04-2004 02:45 PM

I HATE to crit an awsome peice of work but its just a little one. It looks like you have paint chips on the bare metal surfaces of the ship. I dont think the SF,s were really painted except for striping and numbers. Also the Earthforce logo is turquise or a sort of green with a yellow boarder. I have one in my display case. Yours is just beautiful!

CAClark 06-04-2004 02:52 PM

Thanks guys, I have two of the plastic SF kits myself. The logo you are correct about, all you see at the moment is the alpha for the logo, I haven't painted it on the colour map (I forgot actually and realised the other day too!).

As for the paintedness of them, well I don't know, I kind of follow the theory and principles of fighter jets, where they are painted grey or what have you (I assume?!), and there for make the claim that SF's would also be painted for some kind of protective purpose. Dunno for sure though heh.

Cheers! :)

SHOCKWAVE 07-04-2004 04:13 AM

Yeah it really hard to say in the world of SF vehicles of what its textures or colours were suppost to be compared to what we interpit them as, only the creators have the answers. Are you using Photoshop for the surfacing? Ive never tried it yet.

Divideby0 09-04-2004 11:41 PM

these are awesome! Great job!

I'm going through the entire B5 saga on netflix right now. these images are not far from the real thing.

It seems like every LW user pays homage to B5 at some point.

jthelia 29-05-2004 06:59 PM

I'm working on a model that requires chipped, peeling paint... how did you get the chipping on the hull? Or suggestions from anyone would be helpful...

scarabrae 30-05-2004 08:00 AM

Nice model...liked the redesign to your site. Loved the LAAT/i model, probably my favourite from SW. Don't suppose you would do a tute on that one :)
