Sweet! Can you post a wireframe?
|
Looking good - doncha. Its not often you see people get one part of a car as refined as this before moving onto other parts, but this method seems to work well for you!
|
looking very good so far.. keep posting updates!! :)
|
Looks very good. Lines look nice and neat - can't fault it so far.

this car is more like my own version of the a3... because I think this car can be more beautiful... not that my car IS more beautiful... but I want to give this method a chance... and also I have no other references besides some blueprints and a picture of a friend near an a3...

I still need to fix the headlights and the zone where it touches the bumper... I kind of like that blue color... but, is there another color you might want to see on this car?
|
*drools* :) nice progress!!!
|
THANKS DUDE...!!!! but this model still has a lot of points to tweak... itīs like those wrong things that you know are there, but nobody notice... like that little mistake in the lower part of the drill/bump... there are some points very close to each other, which produces some bumps, where itīs supposed to be smooth... (under that litle "like sqare" thing ahead the headlights...)...
|
I love how you did the headlight reflection...care to explain? please?
|
1 Attachment(s)
Well... itīs not hard to explain... and also not hard to do man...
just give the model the properties of "chrome", and for the little ball in the middle of the lights I just used the "outside glass" preset... for the enviroment I used a luminose cilinder with a gradient from black to white and from white to black, that creates the feeling of non hard reflected edges... it is about 250% luminose... Also I set up some spotlights (2 of them) at 50 percent of intentisy... BTW... the last renders ave no radiosity... ad thatīs all... not that hard to do... but just use the "chrome" preset... itīs very useful... |

Iīm thinking about changing the headlights setup... need the tazers lights...
|
Awesome clay renders as well!!
How many cars have you modeled so far? |
well... I just finished my vw van like some months ago... and some good advance with my ford focus, but someone stole my pc, my TV and my electric guitar from my room... thatīs what happends when you sleep at your brotherīs place and leave the windows of your room open... so Iīve started a ford ka (I hatwe it now...) a vw old van and a focus... Lucky me i had a back up of the focus, but not recent... so thatīs why I want to finish this baby... at least the exterior...
THANKS FOT THE CHEERS MAN!!! |
Sorry to hear about your losses man.
|
Very cool model. My cars to date have always turned out like Cr*p! I like the way you rendered the lights. Dunno if its realistic but I like it. Hope to see this one finished.
|
hehehe donīt worry about my losses man... s**T happens so...
Btw... Iīm modifying the head light again... I just found a very nice car tunning page that kind of gave me some ideas... read you later guys! thanks ! |
looking good.. but you may want to kill some of that reflection on the head lamps.
Also the reflection on the body needs some work. You will definitely want to tweak the incidence angle and also (this is key) crank down on the reflection alpha on the gradient (when applying incident angle). that will remove the dreaded "mirror" quality you'll get. |
hey man!!! thanks for the advice...
not posting new renders at least for this week... too much work to do and so little time to do it... |

HEY MAN... is there a nice preset or some material config I can download or copy from some place so It can look more like car paint? presets from here doesnīt seem to be enough for me...
Iīm making some tests anyway... this is what came out after some tests... |
