July - Norm - Kumar

Ok here is where i jump back in,,, so start having the chills cause i am going to give everyone a run for their money... Haha ok guess i will be using the metal sound. Havent created a storyboard yet but will be using a character from another commercial project. But then again i might model something small and use that.

Good Luck to All,
Kumar

Fallenswordsman 02-07-2004 02:41 PM

Fallenswordsman 04-07-2004 03:52 PM

Blimey- you've built that character quick enough! Best of luck with animating the sucker!

Environment Test

1 Attachment(s)
Here is a test of the piggy in the junkyard...

Fallenswordsman 15-07-2004 06:32 PM

Cool looking characters and a nice demonstration of box modelling!

kumar 16-07-2004 01:37 AM

Thanks Fallen.

Noratio 16-07-2004 07:07 AM

Looks good. Image is little blurry where pig is very sharp lined. Video coding blurs alot and I don't know if matters, might try sharpen filter on backdrop. Shadow fits very fine.

kumar 18-07-2004 02:21 PM

Pig IK

1 Attachment(s)
Here is the Pig's IK... Oh ya,,, the pig is also weight mapped and Morph Mapped for lip sync... although i never quite test it out yet... Hmm... i wonder...

kumar 18-07-2004 02:24 PM

Creature IK

1 Attachment(s)
Here is the creature Ik setup,,, he has a few expression morphed and no weight mapps.

Noratio 18-07-2004 09:38 PM

Congrats,
I never got the Shoulder Adjustment parented to Elbow Direction work in my own characters. All the time I got this twisted mesh and no trick provided in tut did help. My sollution was to set few new bones forward from Shoulder Adjustment bone and set IK to that and works fine for me, but I'll keep on trying the Philip sollution. I need to test with character provided with course.

puppet 19-07-2004 12:10 AM

wow where did you learn to IK.
I've learned it but mine looks nothing like that with th ehoop round the waist and stuff.
also why do the arm ik's seem to connect to a point between the feet?

looks impresive anyhow

kumar 19-07-2004 01:06 AM

Thanks Noratio,,, hmm,,, well this is what i did,,, before i actually set up the Ik for the arm,,, i did the null for the hand and placed the elbow null.. used the turn off the parent in place and then turned it on to reparent.. faster that way.. And then turned off IK and deactivated the arm bones,,, then used the rec rest position to activate the bones. Then go on to setup the elbow Ik followed by the arm ik. Hehe actually funny when phillip stumbles with it.

Hi there puppet... well guess your setup might be the one has a line running to the shoulder right... Well thats another way... Here you see another way, you might want to try out the character rigging tute that phillip has done. As for lines running to a single point... its a main mover to move the entire character. The ring is the Center of Gravity, hmm you can actually see the simillarites in the COF and Knee IK with other setups too... I find the Arm and elbow a glad learning exp... as i used to do the elbow by fK.

Thanks guys,
Kumar

puppet 19-07-2004 09:38 PM

oh cool ill have to have a look at that tutorial for next time :)

MeanPi2 20-07-2004 02:43 AM

Holy talking crap that's some confusing rig. It's like some chemistry formula- so confusing it'll either work or explode. Nice job. I think..

colto 20-07-2004 02:59 AM

Nah, Rig looks like it is set up perfectly ;)

Zeeman 20-07-2004 02:10 PM

nice rig. but i'm not used to making it so complex! good job tho. I think i'll look very realistic when animated!

Noratio 20-07-2004 04:23 PM

Thanks Kumar !! for sharing the trick, I allready see it works, so logigal but couldn't figure it out. I'll rerig after challenge. :)

kumar 26-07-2004 01:01 PM

Animation

1 Attachment(s)
Ok here is the final animation,,, not really happy with it,, know i can do better with more time,,, but there is a constraints and other stuff calls,,, Oh well learnt something new about animation and graph editor,,, and plus have 2 characters ready for further animation... :)

duderender 26-07-2004 07:28 PM

LOL, good going. At least you accomplished something!

MeanPi2 26-07-2004 08:17 PM

Ha! Big blue butts and bouncing pig snouts, what's not to like? Nice lip synching and arm flail!

kumar 27-07-2004 12:54 AM
