Thank you all for the wonderful replies!!!!
Front end is almost completed!!!
Thanks!!!

PolarBear53 23-02-2005 02:20 PM

How did you get the threads on the shocks?

jstarr976 23-02-2005 03:03 PM

Looks so good so far man... Just out of curiosity though, is it going to be animated when finished? Because if so thats going to be quite a task with all the shocks and little gears and joints and what not. And if this is the case and you are going to be animating it, are you building it with that in mind and what is your method for doing so? Either way, very impressive model you have there so far, you've got patience man. :D Later

Nail 24-02-2005 12:13 AM

Thank you for your comments!!!!
I'm sorry, but animation is not something I like to do, nor do I know how to do it correctly. Sorry....

To create the threads and coil springs on the shocks and bolts I use thee Lathe tool.

PolarBear53 24-02-2005 12:27 PM

Cool, but i just noticed that the shock on the last picture goes into the metal frame part.

Bobakabob 24-02-2005 02:52 PM

Nail, this is quality work. Superb attention to detail. Do you have a social life?

Front suspention..............

PolarBear53 02-03-2005 02:51 AM

What are the statistics on it? The detail in the shocks and everything else looks like the polys would add up fast, do you work with a bunch of layers?

Nail 02-03-2005 06:30 AM

PolarBear53...Yes I always work with layers, the poly count at 157420 minus Engine, linkages, transmition, brake, cage body and………………

Side note: As you can see from the picture, T-Maxx is a very complex R/C truck.
Made from MANY parts, parts that have to mesh "just right". Attention to detail is my primary objective on this.
I will post more of it when I finish the Bulkheads and more…..
Thanks………
