ok, i think this is my head finished, all i have to do is give mt guy a number, sorta like a bar-code and that will go at the back of his head :p

tell me what ya think :p

cheers

R4s1n 16-02-2005 05:23 AM

Looks top-notch :). Can you post a wireframe of the scar along his face?

davie563 16-02-2005 04:12 PM

lol, the scar is actually somthin like -1000-polys !! i freezed the model and then placed it on head, but i think ill texture map it when it comes to aniamting, so it loads quiker :)

update, how do u think the main body is comin, there is going to be armour over the top, vest or somthin, so its really just the shape im wanting, ill add detail to the vest :p

the collar is still a WIP so its not going to stay a big square :)

Cheers

sake 16-02-2005 08:56 PM

hey looking nice, can we by any chance have a close up of the deatil on the armband thingy?

R4s1n 17-02-2005 03:46 AM

The only crit i have is to make his shoulders bigger and wider.

DigiMatt 17-02-2005 07:52 AM

looks good so far but I agree with r4s1n, the body is a bit underdimensioned compared to the head.

KrisYoung1980 05-03-2005 11:59 AM

This isn't too bad a tutorial for rigging. Haven't followed it all the way through, but what I have read of it seems good

Hope helps,

Kris

Lookin Good man

That Lab yesterday will come in handy.

Render times are gonna be a bugger. Good thing you got that new PC!!

Chris

davie563 05-03-2005 02:08 PM

cheers for link, i seem to have got the both of u mixed up,

KrisYoung1980 are u from Digital Art class or multimedia ?

kilvano i deffinatly know ur from Multimedia class, im i right ;) Ur the Chris that was at out tabel in Time Based Media :)

kilvano 05-03-2005 04:59 PM

theres hundreds of Chris/Kris's in our Course

Im the one that sat at the ur table during TBM. Kris is the really brainy one that smells funny with glasses and did the Karate animation for his project.

davie563 05-03-2005 06:00 PM

is Kris in ur class then, i dont think ive met him :)

if ur there kris, id like to see ur Karate aniamtion, was it in 3D ?

KrisYoung1980 06-03-2005 09:55 AM

Hey Fraser,

We've not met yet but I am one of the plethora of K/Chris's on our course. Like Chris said, I'm Multimedia (and by the way Chris, I'll 'ave you for that "smells funny" comment ;o))
My stuff for the course is on the rather long winded
http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/...uff/index.html
Don't be expecting too much from it :o)
Cheers

BTW,

This is as far as I've got with one of the characters for my project. Haven't had much time to work on it in a while...

kilvano 06-03-2005 11:41 AM

ooga booga!!

Lookin good Kris.

Hurry up and UV the head so i can see what the mask looks like!!

Chris

davie563 06-03-2005 07:36 PM

lol, lookin good, get a thread started so u can keep us updated on this site with ur project :D

Looked at ur site, lookin good. Great work !

i know what u mean with time, i feel like im not gettin enough time on my character, i seem to have art stuff or fridays tasks to do, pain in the ass ! :p

but what the hell, just need to work harder :( thats so depressing LOL

i was talkin to the Teacher thou, and he said if u hand in an anaimtion that is uncomplete, as long as it shows strong animation skills, u will be graded very well :p so dont rush !

PS, Chris ( the other 1 ) ur site is so hard to navigate, :( funny pic of u in suit

kilvano 06-03-2005 09:37 PM

Its not really my site. I just havent go round to creating my own one yet so i just fired up a blog in about 30 mins.,

I plan to get round to it this week. My i need to make a bit more progress with my modelling.

I start a thread for mine maybe tomorrow night once its "worthy"

kilvano 06-03-2005 09:38 PM

quike render before i got to bed :P

simple 08-03-2005 11:26 PM

your model

Hi man think your modells pretty good, bit out of proportion for a fully realistic approach, but it still works and I think it`ll look good
in your animation.

BTW are you doing the course Computer Animation and Digital Art @ Paisley Uni?

I was a 3rd year last year, back for Resits. lol

But looks good man. :p

KrisYoung1980 09-03-2005 09:53 AM

Hey Fraser, looking good!
You going to get all the rigging and set-up done before you texture? What's youre guy going to be doing in the animation?
Cheers,
Kris

davie563 09-03-2005 02:08 PM

im keeping the style very much like the render above, its going to be light blues and greys in colour, i want it to look a bit different that a fully textured thing,

KrisYoung1980 09-03-2005 03:09 PM

Good move, the different approach will really stand out amongst the other peoples work. I'm going to attempt to do most of mine with vertex painting (with a few unavoidable textures) for a bit of a cartoony look.
You going to have any more characters in the animation or is he going to be flying solo?

davie563 09-03-2005 04:04 PM

the character is actually a toy, and the story for the aniamtion is this we toy, escaping from the toy factory :P

well, he sort of goes throu tests to see if he is safe for children :D

thats why he is this style, got that old plastic look the old soldier toys had when we were we, the single tone green colour, only ive chossen blue and grey

davie563 15-03-2005 06:53 PM

here is the Belt the animation will be taking place on. still got to build the factory floor and room itself, but its gettin there :p
