i'm gonna be trying a sea horse for this, this is the first time i'm entering and am not too good, (specially with texturing) also i'd be doing this when i'm not working on the mclaren which takes most of my lightwave time. anyways, heres a start

Thats a good looking mesh!

a little more detail added, there has got to be an easier way to make those spikes!

one more row of spikes

Some nice, tight modeling. This is gonna look awesome textured!
|
thanks, but i'm just gonna massacre the model by texturing it, i'm really horrible at it and have been avoiding it so far, specially uv mapping, i just can't understand it.
here are two more images, i think i'm almost done modeling it, just a couple more spikes or something to add detail, i've been going at this all day today, its just so addictive :D |

done some more work on the head, added fins, ( which are hard to see right now) a couple bumps and spikes and fixed the area around the eyes. i also added a fin at the back which should be mostly refined with texturing. at this point i think i'm done with the model, and am just about ready to start with the texture, so let me know if you see something that needs to be corrected or should be added. thx

can't sleep, so i thought i'd crank out some radiosity renders. as for the textures there are none right now, so the fin will look very plain, all i did was add a white colour to everything and give it some shine and reflection.

Keep going.. Michael |
Wow, nice model! Better than mine... lol.
I entered as a noob but im using max. Best of luck to u. I like your model. Try adding a bit of texturing to it. Its great on detail! |

finally being done with the mclaren i got some time to texture the seahorse, but i don't know how to texture so i used simple procedurals, the only uv i used was around the eye, which was relatively simple. for the lighting i used alot of area lights, some negatives, to get the shadowed look, i went for a really clear, fish tank kind of water but any comments on making it look more watery would be great.

roshan003,
This looks beautiful. I love the subtle monochrome look. awesome job! |
question:
I'm going out of the country tomorrow, and won't have internet access till i get back mid next month, so would it be possible for this image to be considered my final and be submitted. i know you will be opening a special post for the finals, but since i'm not here to submit it could this be acceptable? or could someone submit it for me? thanks |
I've posted the threads, so you can put yours in. if you've already left, I'll try to remember to do so.
