I'm a little late getting in on this as i've been busy with other stuff...but i'm gonna give it my best shot in what little time remains...

...here's the obligatory pen and paper scribble...what you're lookint at...in case you can't [which i'm sure you can't from that mess] is a guy laying in bed and he wakes up to bug and all sorts of creepy crawlers all over him...you know like when you get an itch in the night and wake up but there's nothing there...well this time maybe there is...

alright...here's the second creepy crawly for my image...not texture or anything cool like that...but hey...its a WIP...one wire and one clay...and now i'm going to sleep cause i've been on this all project all day...:zzz:

thanks guys...i'm glad i managed to find time to give this a shot...

...here's some updated shots of the snake...fixe some deform issues i was having as well as added some morphs...now onto UV maps ::shudders:: now there's something to fear and loath...

...alright...so here's my first shot at texturing...by first shot i don't mean first textures i mean...i've thrown about 50 on there and this is the first time i've been in the ball park...not diggin' the scales...if anyone has anything to say about that that might help me ...it would be much appreciated...as well as as an crits in general...

[UV's are out...i gave 'em a quick go and i couldn't really unwrap the head real well as it was my first go at them...and don't have time to try and learn now...i don't think...we'll see]

yeah...so i got the snake squared away...i don't know where i was on that b4...i had the dried river bed texture goin...this is a better...i'm still gonna try something else for the head tho...

...okay and all the time spent waiting on renders of the silly snake while i changed textures and played with variables on that...i spent beginning to model my backdrop/set/enviroment...whatever you want to call it...cheap wires, straight outta modeler but they'll do as a wip...

ah, to be able to multitask!!!

My system dies when I start to render. I only have 256meg and 32 on the gfx card.

Am waiting to upgrade to a good system, but we are buying a house in a few months so I am serverely limited right now! boo hoo!!!!

Anyways................like the models. I like the details people put in even when they are not gonna be seen too much.

Looking forward to seeing the finished products of everyones!

thanks dooster...i'm tryin' my hardest...

...ah Merlin...rendering is all proccessor intensive...and i guess a little ram intensive to have both modeler and layout open...but as for my system i need to update it as well...maybe not as much as you but mines still nowhere near top end...mines a 4 year old P4 1.5 ghz with 512 mb of ram...and a 128 mb video card i picked up for $50 two years ago...anyway...i'm glad you're liking models... they seem a lot like a waste of polygons sometimes since they're not gonna be "featured" so to speak...but i guess they need to be there to give it a sense of realism...

here's the lamp as it standes now...forgot to give it a cord or a power swtich, and looks like i need to tweak the shade a littlle...

I think you just fell on a 'tissue misconception'...lmao

If you really look at a tissue coming out of a box, it really isn't very crumpled. If it was, then the weight on the crumples would cause the tissue to drop.

A tissue that stands up well has a few good vertical waves in it, and that is where all the strength is.

I studied material science while doing my undergraduate degree, but I never thought I'd actually need it until I started lightwave, lol

yeah...you know merlin...you're definately right...i was combining both a handled tissue with the straight out of the box tissue and it definately wasn't working...so back to revising that i shall go...

here's the pen model...i'm not overly satisfied with the textures...is it me or does "transluecency" do nothing?...i tried seetings all over the place...and nothing changed from when i had it set at zero...do i have to enable it or something?...bah...minor details...here's the pen...enjoy...

merlin...i'll probably have it somewhere around where it is in shot at the top of this page as that's the one closest to my scribble unless i come up with somewhere i like more...i'm probably going to be relying on the alarm clock for most of my lighting in the scene...and maybe something streaming in thru the window...i'm glad you like what i've got so far...and thanks for takin' a look at it...

right right you are merlin...altho i'm considering not putting the person in there and having it more of an implied thing since most people consider their beds to be safe, "friendly" places and here this one is full of nothing but creatures that most would rather not have anywhere near their bed...and the other problem with putting the person in there...is i run the risk of it being interpreted as a nightmare rather than a person lying there awake stricken with fear...altho both interpretations could very easily serve the same end...we'll see what the next cpl days bring as to what i finally end up doing...since i'm ultimately only on the fifth day of the project [wow? that's it??? it seems like forever!] and there's very nearly 7 to go...i'm not even 50% of the way thru technically...so i guess its early enough time left to make drastic changes if it calls for it...

...anyway onto the fun stuff...the diseased rat...yes i said diseased...regular rats just weren't ugly enough...so this one's diseased...

well i finished up the texturing on the alarm clock and made the clock face...anybody have any suggestions for a time on the clock...i've got two i'm already thinking about...12:29 and 11:34...any others?

Just an idea: how about 00:13 for bad luck or 06:66 for a little paranormal clock

By the way....beautiful scene....you stole my heart :bow:
