Sept/Oct - Noob - ShadowFox

My idea is to take the concept LiNK from the SNES game Zelda and make an adult version of him. (i know this Game has been made in 3D a lot, but ill like to give this a shot)

concept

sorry my free hand skills are on the poor side but i think it shows the idea. :ninja:

Blueflies 18-09-2005 09:35 AM

Looks like a good start and a pretty interesting concept. Keep posting progress, can't wait to see this one.

Fallenswordsman 18-09-2005 01:26 PM

Adult Zelda should be interesting :) Best of luck!

bullet_evader 21-09-2005 06:31 PM

Looks like you are doing nice. I think the hair isn't that bad, but it's just to repeatable and their is to much space between the hairthreads.

Just give some more variation to the hair, and it will look better.

gave saslight a go but every time i render it to the side some of the hair wont render :s any idea on how to fix this?

R4s1n 21-09-2005 11:41 PM

I think there is an option in Saslite where you can make the hair denser or more close together. Thus hiding the bald spots. Not sure what the options are cuz i couldn't find saslite in LW...:alien:

Blueflies 22-09-2005 01:01 AM

I think the Saslite version does look better and obviously more realistic. You'll just have to keep playing with the settings until you get it to come in more.....or just go for the much older looking version of Link. ;)

Nice progress dude. Only thing that bothers me is the belly button.
I don't like it. maybe you should fix that area!?!

Fallenswordsman 24-09-2005 03:25 PM

I'd have to agree with Bullet about the belly-button area. The knees look a bit funky to me as well...but otherwise, this is coming together nicely.

Blueflies 25-09-2005 01:57 AM

I think it looks good. The one area (besides the belly button) that looks a little strange is his thigh area just above the knees. It looks like his upper thighs are kinda flat. That's the best way I can describe it but, nonetheless, it's a lot better than I could do!

Keep going, almost done.

ShadowFox 25-09-2005 10:01 AM

ill now slow down on the modeling part for a bit got a week and one month any ways. so ill do some UVs (never gave UVs a shot but ill try)

http://www.firefox.ecwhost.com/image...est_plates.jpg

Fallenswordsman 25-09-2005 10:29 AM

Excellent start to texturing there  ....I wish I could texture/render/anything else other than model....

bullet_evader 25-09-2005 10:34 AM

Texturing looks great. Try to add some bump to the rust ( not to much, just a slightly bump )

t1ck135 26-09-2005 08:47 AM

yowsers man, you've done loads already.
Looking really really good, I'd have thought this was a normals entry not a noobs! :)

Keep it up :)

ShadowFox 27-09-2005 01:53 PM

i know this image is a bit too small but :s i did some UVs :ninja: http://www.firefox.ecwhost.com/image...y_Render11.jpg

ShadowFox 28-09-2005 05:23 AM

the sword looks odd :S
(note* im doing what i know how :s and thats not much)

http://www.firefox.ecwhost.com/image...y_Render12.jpg

bullet_evader 28-09-2005 03:45 PM

Texturing looks good, but i would give the green clothes some more variations in color. Not by adding another color, but by adding darker and lighter tones. Maybe add some mud too!?!
