Well after not using LW for a while again i've decided to start this little project.
It's an Anti-Tank Droid by an Artist by the name of Hideyoshi Ruwwe...Not sure as to where i got the reference, but all copyrights go to him!

Looks like a good start so far - did you ever get to finish your Bionicle model?

odeone 16-02-2006 10:38 AM

Really nice modelling. Makes you think that they would make pretty lethal darts as well as droids.

Nice work...

R4s1n 16-02-2006 12:36 PM

Thank you for the kind words :D
As for the Bionicle it got too hard and it involved too much thinking (And after work that was the last thing i wanted to do)(My job sucks :headbang: )
Although i do plan on finishing just not sure when....

I also Rendered a bigger image that's with the last render...

sake 16-02-2006 06:33 PM

Cool cant wait to see some textures. Why does your job suck? What do you do for a living?

R4s1n 16-02-2006 09:12 PM

Light Intensity = 0%
A dome set-up with 100% Luminosity
Monte Carlo as Global Illumination
Ambient Intensity = 0%
Everything enabled in Global Illumination window except Caustics and Shading Noise Reduction (Although sometimes i turn the Shading Noise Reduction on for smaller renders)
Rays Per Evaluation 6x18 for big Renders and usually somethign smaller for smaller renders.
And only 1 Indirect Bounce under Monte Carlo

Well being only 17 the only job i can have over here is a Restaurant job. I'm one of the head cooks, a buffet person, bus-boy, and a dishwasher.
Huge headache when employees walk out and everybody else has to help pick up the slack.

I've been with the restaurant for almost 2 years and i can't remember all the employees and managers we have been through. It's kind of sad IMOH.

Fantastic level of detail here! (Can't see why you struggled with the bionicle considering the detail you have shown here) Great bit of modelling :p

vulcan2k3 22-02-2006 03:22 AM

Wow, that's pretty cool. I like it.

R4s1n 22-02-2006 06:03 AM

Well if your arachnaphobic they'll scare the crap out of you. Take my hat off, very nice. Sell em to Lucas, so he can get inspired.lol.

bullet_evader 05-03-2006 09:54 PM

I like the style. Would be fun to see it animated.

R4s1n 05-03-2006 10:32 PM

Thanx for the kind words guys. Been trying to learn everything i can about Texturing properties. Following Leigh Van Der Byl's tutes on what each texturing thing means.

Hideyoshi 15-03-2006 04:53 PM

oO'

Ok.

I just found this thread by accident and all I can say:

It's totally bada$$!!!
Can't believe I finally see a model of the phage drone!
You did an excellent job and it absolutely looks the way I had envisioned it!
I would give my left arm to see this thing move around in an animation!
You know, originally I had created this design for a comic project that never really came to be realized so far.
But your work has just re-enflamed my desire to eventually get this comic project running someday!
Jeez, I can't wait to see the finished product with textures and all!
Wow!

Also thx for crediting me as the copyright owner! Good to see some candid people out there!

R4s1n 15-03-2006 06:35 PM

Thanx Hideyoshi for the kind words!!!

As for texturing and animation : I'm waiting for some SLW DVD's on texturing to come in the mail and then once David Mitchell finishes up on his IK tutorials i'll get those and get this Droid moving!

Hideyoshi 15-03-2006 07:50 PM

awesome, I look forward to it!

davie563 21-03-2006 07:12 PM
