Cool, i really can't wait to work with version 9.

* Edge Selection (throughout Modeler)
* N-gons (polygons greater than 4 sides) for subdivision surface modeling

I'm glad newtek finally put these 2 options into lightwave.

I used edge selection for maya some time ago, and i really missed it in lightwave.

I looked at some of video demos and i gotta say that LW 9 is WORTH GETTING!!!!
I was especially interested in the wind demo...Crazy control and fast calculations/movement.

If i had money then this is something i would definetly invest in.

I know i'm in no position to tell you this but if you could keep all these new demo posts to one 1 thread then it wouldn't be hard to look through all the new demos...

No problem. Some other forums where we've been asked to post are so busy that the thread is all but unfindable when I'm ready to post the next one. If a moderator would like to combine the video threads into one, I'll be happy to post in it as new ones come out.

OK, I've merged the video specific threads into this single thread now.

I've left the other threads (newsletter, profiles and Open Beta) as they are.

Okies I merged the video threads and renamed it New LW v9 Video's that should keep it all together in one place.

You can also check the Video page on newtek I check there often for updates.

Just bump this thread for new videos.

G-Toggle Subpatch is just a small update to lightwave, but it's a very good one :nod:

For many times i needed to deselect all and had to go in subpatch mode. I'm glad i don't have to do that anymore in version 9.

This last video about the Dissolve tool goes hand in hand with BandGlue? It does the same thing except that bandglue used polys and Dissolve uses edges.

Well i took a step forward and ordered my own liscense of LW 8.
The cool thing is that it's $800 + Vue 5 and a free upgrade to LW 9...Can't wait till it comes in the mail!!!!!

Don't forget to download your free license of LWCAD after you've registered your new LightWave.

I've got that package to, can't wait to put my fingers on lightwave 9.

Hey Kurtis does LW 9 come in 64bit as well?

Short answer, "yes."

LightWave has come with both PC and Mac versions in the same box for the same price for a while now. Starting with v8.5, LightWave does, and will, ship with 32-bit PC, 64-bit PC, and 32-bit Mac all in the same box for the same price. NewTek does not charge extra for cross-platform support.

Its funny that Anisotropic video helps me understand the node shaders more.

Kurtis will we be getting some shader node tutorial videos?
