:lmao: don't worry, I'll keep it clean...

I didn't have time to participate in the last one
but I'll come up with something this time.

good luck to you too!

priimate 03-07-2006 12:45 AM

Hey cgrein! Goodluck with the challenge, looks like you got a good set of words there - a few things came to mind [none of which were "seedy"!].

Cheers! priimate.

cgrein 03-07-2006 12:08 PM

Hey priimate,

Good luck with your "armed machine" !

Hey admiralbcd, here's my idea:

This old man has dedicated all his life
to produce a meaningful musical instrument;
one with astonishing sound qualities.

Since I'm not a drawing artist I traced over a photo to make this
concept sketch.(talking about "amazing fraud")

The picture shows him working on his "perfect violin".

What do you think?

Fallenswordsman 04-07-2006 06:04 PM

Nice concept, Cgrein. I like the idea and it could be very nice for mood lighting as well with the window in the background. Should be interesting to watch how you progress with this.

admiralbcd 05-07-2006 06:54 AM

that's a very original approach to the subject.
I like it a lot !

cgrein 05-07-2006 01:20 PM

thanks guys!

I'll start modeling the old man.

Fallenswordsman 05-07-2006 07:30 PM

Good start - might need to push the eyesocket in a little but I know its early days.

Fallenswordsman 08-07-2006 07:49 PM

Looking excellent although still a bit too early to make too many comments. You're really steaming ahead with the modelling though. :attn:

colto 08-07-2006 07:51 PM

Looks top notch!

the ear still needs some work, but I need to sleep now.

Fallenswordsman 09-07-2006 06:09 AM

Still - he's coming along nicely and he has some great character in his face - as for the ear, I think it might need to come up a little bit - looks a bit low perhaps?

You are right about the ear.
I used two different pictures as reference,
so the ear ended in the wrong position.

admiralbcd 10-07-2006 04:25 PM

oh my .... you're going at lightspeed...no make that super ridiculous speed.....this is going to be great....

Mark 10-07-2006 05:32 PM

Looks sweet - plenty of character in there already and you've not even begun texturing yet...

cgrein 11-07-2006 12:15 PM

admiralbcd: I'm not going at lightspeed, I think the model looks more complex than it really is... ;)

mark: thanks.

I spent some time cleaning the mesh of the head and fixing some bad loops.

Now I'm working on the neck:

DigiMatt 12-07-2006 08:30 PM

Thank you bullet.

Wires: (remember, it's still a wip)

colto 15-07-2006 05:24 AM

Nice wires! Looks like a pretty clean mesh and the model looks great!

cgrein 17-07-2006 11:18 AM

Thanks colto!

I'm beginning to work in the hands now...

colto 19-07-2006 11:29 PM

Looks cool!

Fallenswordsman 19-07-2006 11:55 PM

Looks like a good start on the hands so far :)

cgrein 20-07-2006 02:11 AM

yes, a lot of work to do yet. :)

arran 21-07-2006 01:57 PM

wow - great work so far cgrien - I like your idea and the head is looking awesome - the only area that I am not sure about is the back of the head - it just looks like it maybe needs a bit more mass at the back, above the ears.

Great work mate - good luck in the challenge!

cgrein 22-07-2006 12:30 PM

Thanks for the tip arran, I'll check it out.

Good luck to you too!
