OK I started modeling when I read the message, I wanne go for it.
I'm modeling some sort of a plane, but it will be a little harmfull, because it will have a weapon, which... You'll see

here are some wires to show where I am

looks promising so far, did you have a concept drawing or were you doodling about?

BTW; nifty desktop theme but I better stick to win2k : )

wozzyke 19-01-2003 05:57 PM

I have no concept for the simple reason I cant draw with a pencil, everything comes straight out of the haid.

and the desktop is win XP with windowblinds themes, wich you also can use with win2k

Jonathan 20-01-2003 02:24 AM

Looking good Wozzyke!

BTW, would there be any kind of theme like that for win98?

Four_D 20-01-2003 09:03 PM

Looks good, but I'm still trying to figure out what the hole in the front is? Is that gonna be enclosed in glass as a cockpit? None-the-less, nice clean mesh.

Moebius 21-01-2003 11:18 AM

Nicely done, Wozz!

Sheesh... you've already gotten far on your toy, I haven't even decided what kind of a toy to model for the challenge. :(

Cheers! - Möe

update! update!

wozzyke 27-01-2003 07:28 AM

Hey man I know you are waiting for updates, and all the others maybe too, but the two previous week I had exams, and this week too. So I had really no time to work on my model? When this week finishes I'll work on it, because then I'll have 8 weeks free, so then I have time enough.
I will see if I can find some spare time this week, but I cant promis anything. I'm a bit at a dead end with the model, the weapon I planned to put in there turned out really bad. So I'll have to find something else but I'll find something;be shure of that

well ppl finally got some time to model a little and look what I got, yes I added a little weapon.
And yes its a nice one, not painfull, because its for kids. But I would play with it too, but I'm maybe a little child too.

It's not finished but as you can see I'm making progress. The weapon is such an arrow that keeps sticking on your head when kids shoot at you. Yes really cool for them but not when it hits your eye for the fift time today :)
I also added a part of the mechanism, yes the trigger. Need to model the inside thing but is not that much of work I guess

well tell me what you think of it so far, comments are allways most welcome

OK I did a testrender using a skydome to make radiosity possible. Rigley told me to give it a try so I did, but unfortunately I forgot the arrow in the plane so you'll have to wait a bit to see that again. An other problem is that my groundplane looks to be dissapeared. Dont know why, it is in the scene all black and in the rendering its gone.

tell me what you think of it

Moebius 30-01-2003 12:05 PM

Looks very good. I'd turn the AA up a bit, but I really like how it all rendered out so nice and soft looking. Keep it coming!

here is a render were the arrow is included and the subpatch level upped to 10 so everything is very smooth now. Maybe its a little much but rendering time was not that huge, only 39 minutes using GI and radiosity

Moebius 31-01-2003 02:23 PM

This really clean and slick looking now! Nice work, wozz

zapper1998 01-03-2003 06:41 PM

really awesome work there wozz

were could i find that theme u use that is so cool please tell

wozzyke 02-03-2003 11:56 AM

Well actualy its no theme I'm using. I'm using a skinning program. Called: WINDOWBLINDS. And when you have installed the program, you can download skins.

I'll enter as a newbie contestant.

Nicodemus 03-03-2003 01:03 AM

Nice concept. On an unrelated question. How do you grab a still of your desktop like that?

L

Mark 03-03-2003 01:09 AM

Nicodemus: If you're using a PC, simply press <Alt-PrtScrn> to capture the current window, then open Photoshop, do a <Ctrl-N> to create a new canvas then <Ctrl-V> to paste in the clipboard.
