Character Tut
Well i went through the Movies and everything worked just fine exept one thing TT
I think it's in the second part when u adjust the thighbones (using the Pivot Record). My problem is i can't seem to change it's radius, it's bending outword wich look's quit silly ^_^ I tryed again using that option but it's not changing anything. But i can use the Pivot rotation to get it there , but it wont stay in place??? Thx for any help^^ |
did you create keayframes immediately after changing the pivot rotation?
|
Yes, but it still seems to defom weird.
|
have a screenshot handy? or maybe you could even post the scene and model (as zip please) so I can have a look.

|
ok, that zip should do the Job, sorry
|
ok, the problem is that you have values for rotation keyed to that bone, so first record pivot rotation, then adjust pivot rotation with the rotate pivot point tool.
|
ok, i just tryed and what happens is this ,
the pivot does stay in place now , but after adding the null and making the IK chain it still bends in a wrong way? |
what do you mean by "rotates the wrong way"?
|
Try moving the R_Foot_CTR

Thx for helpin^_^

pivot rotation wasn't fixed in this scene, and the shinbone's pivot was screwed as well... maybe it's best to start over and convert the skelegons again etc...
|
ok, thx il do that.
^_^ |
:) and make sure you follow every step carefully... :p
|
So here i am again :(
Well i started the entire Tut again, and now i am gettin other issues.
As for one,i made the skelegonTree copyed it into the character layer even saved the thing switched to layout and tryed to convert to bones and it tell's me it find's only 1 skelegon???????? |

So here's what i have done
|
Well i have tryed in manyway's and i can't seem to find my problem, any help would be very kind.
THX in advance |
sorry for the delay, I had some computer troubles...
just checked your file. The problem is real easy to solve: activate your skelegons layer, go into polygon selection mode and have a look at your polygon statistics panel (w), click the little "+" next to "1 point" to select your 1-point polys and delete them. That's it! When creating skelegons make sure you don't create 1 point polys in the first place, or delete them afterwards. |
Yeehaaww, ok i am proceeding now with the rest of the Tut ^_^
Thx again |
Well, i am at the same spot as befor, Spine1 readjust works fine the heading get's set just like it should. But the ThieBone Heading doesent get adjusted correctly just like befor.Same Problem.
|
it really is the same as befor Thie and Shin Bones are totally weird???

I really followed every step asfar as i can tell ???
Ps:Thx for any info (again) |
could it be you have the auto key feature enabled? If so, turn it off to only create keyframes by pressing enter...
apart from that, fix your pivot rotations the way I explained earlier in this thread |
Well i dont mean to play dumb here, but i tryed that already and i was able to adjust the rotation, only i was not able to make a Keyframe to keep it in place ???
So i readjust the Pivot and it all looks fine, but neither the enter button or by pressing the make Key with the mouse option seems to work, i can't make a Keyframe . Ps:So much trouble for something that small .( (THX AGAIN FOR ANY HELP) |
you can't key the pivot, you can only key bone rotations
|
ok well , i got it to work but somewhat differnt then you had explain.I used the EditSkelegons Tool(in Modeler) to adjust the rotation (had to resend it to layout) and it all worked just fine. Thanks for helpin ^_^
|
...you were supposed to do that in the first part! Hence my sermon about rotation handles.
oh well, now you know :D |
wow... thats a lot of help given phil.
*gives phil medal. |
