Basic of the basics

Ok, i'm totally new to light wave and when i first opened it, i got lost just by looking. Where can i get some good tutorials for the modeler (version 7.5 i think, or version 7). I'm really looking into things such as monster modeling to make monster with it off the top of my head. All tutorials greatly thanked for and thanks in advance

i was wondering if there is a helpfile i could locate which explains every single tool in LW7.0 or LW7.5

rich_is_bored 16-08-2003 05:20 AM

Yeah there are online manuals in your Lightwave directory. They are in Adobe Acrobat format (*.pdf).

since i have jus started using LW im not used to the hotkeys or actually i have no clue about some tools.....anyway i would like to kno how to smooth the model just like how Phillip did in this picture

Tab to activate subpatch mode.

R4s1n 20-08-2003 09:33 AM

is it because i have LW7.0 that when i activate the subpatch all the original lines and vertices turn green.... i mean it still smoothes it out though but can i change the color of subpatch because this is what i get and it gets laggy

R4s1n 20-08-2003 09:35 AM

unless that is what ur supposed to get

Sharp 20-08-2003 03:04 PM

yea i wud like to know how to get rid em em to :) thy rly do get in the way wen u hav alot of polys

Sharp 20-08-2003 03:05 PM

btw wat is classed as a 4 point poly? i thought it was a poly which only has 4 points like a square. but i hav no polys over more sides that a square and it still says i got 4 point polys.

R4s1n: the green lines is the subpatch cage, to turn it off press 'd' and uncheck 'Show Cages'

R4s1n 21-08-2003 09:22 AM

thanx digi
