i just got lightwave 7. i have no idea how to use it.
can someone help me out?

Start with modeler...
Stay around, look at some free tutorials here.. go through them..
If you find them to hard..go to www.newtek.com find some tutorials there.. there are some pretty easy ones..
Read the manual..
Fiddle around, use all the tools for this and that.. without any real goal.. just to get the fell of how things work..
