The mystery of Leovenous - REVEALED

Just for fun I thought I'd throw a little mystery out.

Most people have no clue who Leovenous is and many aren't sure how to pronounce it. (quite easy, Lee-ah-ven-ous). I am really honestly courious if anybody (withought doing a web search) knows who this name is taken from. It tells me a lot about you if you do. If not I'll tell all in a couple days.

So, anybody know?

;)

Leovinus, as it is actually spelled, was the mythical designer of "...the biggest, most beautiful, most technologically advanced interstellar Etherliner ever built..."

the STARSHIP TITANIC

This massive and magnificent luxary space cruiseliner sets the bar for both interrior and exterrior design. It is done in a sci-fi 40's style that I totally go for.

Leovinus was a greying overweight man who was quietly eccentric and burnt himself out on the STT project so now he is allegedly a full time fisherman.

So, out of my respect for what would be to me a dream come true (that is, designing the biggest and finest space curise ship ever... a big thing considering they can't even get a busload of people in orbit and back right now) I have or am the continuation of the concept. Of the fictional character who was the fufiller of the dream.

My hats off to Leovinous.

I hope to model the STT someday, but that will be no small task.

Here are some intresting sites:

"In Communion with the entire Family of the Starship Titanic, remembering the great Cause which we have come together to celebrate and build, it is my Wish that the humble Designs, of which I am the unworthy Instrument, should be so made available on this Web that all who are of pure Heart and devout Mind may gaze upon the Works, even from their Infancy in the Conceptions of my Intellect; and so be brought to greater Understanding; that in the fullness of Time they may better know Me, and strive everlastingly for that greater Good, whose service is Delight and in whose Accomplishment lies that Peace which knows no Limit. By the Grace of the Financial Consortium and for the greater Glory of our Self, Voyage without End."

That would be the coolest model ever!

Yeah, Philip, that would be an EXCELLENT tutorial....:)

Hmmm... McLaren / Starship Titanic ... Not that much difference between the two methinks (apart from the fact that one has wheels and the other is a starship).. :D

Endorphin 15-10-2003 01:07 PM

hehehe....Starship McLaren...:D

Leovenous 16-10-2003 07:59 PM

Yeah its only the difference between 1/2 ton of titanium and 500,000 tons. I daresay the interrior of the STT is classier... of course you have to do interriors. It even has a canal.
