gas flame
hi all
was wondering if anyone could help. i am trying to creat a flame, but more of a gas flame. like the one on your cooker, that kind of small blueish flame. any links to tuts or any sugestions would be great thanx. |
If you have the means, I think it would be the fastest, best and easiest to film a real fire on a black background and then put it on 4 polys that form an X.
It's simple and plain, but hey... Weta digital did that for the torch flames that the orcs have in Lord of the Rings (the battle at the end of The Two Towers). :) |
hi

This tutorial is exactly what your looking for.
http://hometown.aol.com/mebek19/flame.html This is what I made from this tutorial. Avi---> http://threedcg.com/3dschool/Candle.avi With a little tweaking this flame would look perfect as a gas flame. |
aaa perfect fantastic thanx Johnny9ball
will post up my stuff so u guys can tack a look see. thanx again |
I moved this thread to the 'effects' area since its not really a WIP, atleast not yet. When you get the modelling started and post your progress we can move it back :)

Looks great so far. I would adjust your Alpha so the two blue parts are a little closer in the middle.
