A way to see points with backdrops

Points get lost easily when you are using a backdrop. When you are using a line drawing (such as the McLaren Tutorial backdrops) I load them into Photoshop, invert them to black with white lines and then add a blue effect layer set to multipy. Now you can see your points and still see the backdrop item.

Hey cory, thanks for the tip.. I had some problem with that some time ago but I never thought as far as doing this.. I just struggled on instead hehe.

Why do that in Photoshop when you can do it in Lightwave?

With the image editor go to the edit tab, click on invert, and for the blue color, play with the hue and saturation.

Hi,

Just thought I'd share my comment on this subject since it always bothered me that I couldn't ever keep track of my points either:p

What I started doing was load my prints/schematics in PS change it to gerey scale and then change the level to 128.......it made the prints/schematic blend in with the view port.........of course I use the LW default grey so I guess it would have to be different for that kinda situation :)

Just my thoughts though

You can also change the size of your points. Go under display options, Interface, turn on simple wire frame points and turn up the size. I think I have mine at 4 or 5.
