light control

Is there any way to turn lights on/off quickly while retaining
there settings?
what I have is a model that has several (20) lights that have constant settings. I want to set these up and then be able to turn each on/off as needed.
Thanks :D

some people might have different ideas about this question but i think you have turn them on or off manually during each frame.....that is if you are making a movie

There's a number of ways of doing this.

The easiest (if they've all got the same intensity setting) is to simply set this to 0% where needed (you can use the spreadsheet editor for this).

Another way is to toggle the Affect Diffuse, Affect Specular and Affect Caustics settings for each light (again, see if you can use the spreadsheet to do them all at once).

Or, you can stop them affecting an individual object by toggling them off in the objects Properties/Lights panel.
