spline patching
 

Hi there,

I'm at part three of the tutorial now, and this is where you add the spline patching, but having trouble doing this, it keeps saying "curves do not curve correctly, although some parts work, i keep having to flip to get the patch to work, what could be the problem?

Does it really say "curves do not curve correctly" or does it say "curves do not cross correctly"? ;)

That is usually caused because the splines are not attached to each other. Make sure that the points shared by two splines are welded (select the intersection and if there is more than 1 point selected, hit CTRL+w to weld them together).
It is also caused when you don't select the splines in the right order.


About having to flip, it depends on what direction you select the splines (clockwise or counter clockwise). There isn't a real standard since it depends on your viewport and other things of the sort.

you were right about what it said "curves do not cross correctly", rather than what i said. I still cant get it to work correctly, i was trying for hours trying to get it to work, but still no success, i have added another image of the mclaren with the points selected, could you try and figure out what i'm doing wrong here, i tried to follow the tutorial but just cant get it to work.
