Tequila bottle (Phase 1)

1 Attachment(s)
I just found this site yesterday and recently completed a scene inspired by Philip's website. The JD bottle on his site blew me away and helped make my decision to purchase LW. Well, after a few months on learning LW I looked at my Tequila bottle and said "it time to render you". Basically using much of the scene settings from the JD bottle I came up with this (below). This is phase one and the next phase would include more items. I'm pretty happy with this rendering, but hopefully I'll be more original next time.

cool render! and welcome aboard,

one thing that is bothering me is the drinking glass, i have never seen cups with that kind of structure, it seems like its barely holding any of the tequila,
- correct me if im wrong because i dont know if they sell those.....
Good luck with Lightwave!

You are correct - they don't sell them, but they might soon. The shot glass bothers me too. The glass itself could stand out better and be more defined. If I do a phase two it'll be improved.

It looks like a pretty standard shot glass to me, and I should know as well I've seen the bottom of enough of 'um

PS nice looking render :)

Well you've got much better eyesight than me David 'cos after three or four of those things I have trouble seeing the end of my nose let alone the bottom of the shot glass :D

But I agree - it is a really nice looking render.

Good work...

The shot glass doesnt bother me, it just looks like a half filled glass.

What would make a 'better' or more impactful scene though is maybe a few drops of tequila on or around the glass. Maybe a drop sliding down the outside? Or lipstick on the rim of the glass would be cool...

Hope to see more soon and welcome!

How did you make the liquid inside the glass?

Yes, I thinks it's an amazingly well done rendering.

Well, the liquid should be pretty easy once you have the glass model made. I just copied the polygons from the inside glass shape and placed them into a new layer. Then scale it's size down just a bit, remove some polys and add new ploys for the top of the liquid. Then assign the proper material (double sided I think) and you should have some nice looking liquid. Hope this short version helps.
