WarCraft anyone?
 

WarCraft III Frozen throne is a game i like to play alot.
Its an RTS (Real Time Strategy Game) its fun and all but lately I've just been playing n the custom server maps. People have good ideas and make great maps. Anyways the game developer just released art tools for the game and they use 3dmaxs couldn't i substitute that with Lightwave or do i still need to get 3dmax?

Just thought it would be cool to put some of my own things in the game and if anyone else would like to make characters or doodads too :) or if anything just giving info on whats happening with 3d modling and how its catching on more and more.

Well, if the tools are standalone then you should be able to use Lightwave and then export your models as 3ds files.

However, I've just taken a quick look at the site, and I suspect that the tools are a set of plugins for Max - in which case you're SOL I'm afraid (sorry)...

You might be able to use gmax. Not sure though, because I'm at work and the company's firewall won't let me view game sites.

I used to play Warcraft 2 alot..... ahhhh those were the days. I never really got into Warcraft 3.

Don't let that stop you. If you can get the specs on the file format you can write an LScript plugin.

warcraft is a great game.. if you like it you should definatly take a look at Lord of the rings - War of the ring

Hmm, i saw the war of the rings at a store. But was more intersted to get the twin towers and return of the king for x-box... Hmm another fan i guess.
