Particle......schmarticle!!!
Ive been playin with lightwave for quite some time now and although I consider myself to be a intermidiate to advanced user
Im still having problems with particles.... grrr MyScene is this: Laser turret firing at a fighter craft...... pretty simple My effect is this: 1 partigon emitter parented to the laser turret firing partigons at a intermitent rate... When 1 of the particles hits a collision source(the fighter) the particle shards into a hyper-vox emiter for some Kick-A fire and explosion effects... My problem is this: I have the turret particles looking good, I have the explosion the size and the way I want it... but when I follow the manuals(7.5) suggestion on how to get the effect I want It dont work..... (Im using the Parent-collision) Manual says: When you use the parent-emitter, parent-emitter(end), parentcollision, and child-pivots nozzle types, they use one controller’s relationship to another in order to create multiple or cascading effects. To use parent-emitter, you need to create two emitters and parent one to the other. Then, set the child’s Nozzle to parent-emitter. The parent’s particles will spawn particles, essentially becoming emitters themselves. Parent-emitter(end) is similar, but emits the particles after the parent’s particles die—perfect for exploding fireworks. Parentcollision doesn’t emit the particles until the parent particle has a collision. (Make sure you click Start to compute the motion.) Now all the other effects mentioned above work fine exept the one I want. Ive tried using Both HV and Both Partigon emitters and mixed them up too....but it still doesnt work.... Later I will post some small images to explain a little better.. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi - or its just me and Bob Hope!! |
