Looking good :) But that's a very dense looking mesh hehe.

lokkin good so far m8 whats the poly count on that

kumar 10-12-2003 02:41 AM

The right image is from a website tutorial for modelling an orc. Well i started with only the front image and after a while knew that i needed a side view. So i improvised.

As for the poly count, its 1316 so far...

I have to agree with Erwin, the density of the mesh is a bit of a worry although the model itself looks good. Technically there's nothing *wrong* with having a lot of polys but it becomes a right pain when it comes to editing or changing one part - rather than having to adjust single points, you end up having to play around with a whole load of them lining them all up exactly right so you don't get unwanted bumps. Having said that though, I'm impressed with what you've got so far, especially the ears. Great work!

Guess you are right about the dense mesh. But i was so into getting the model looking right,,, it just went out of hand. But this project will only be a bust thing. You know just modelling technique exploration.

Hmm but then again i can use the normal map tutorial and get a cool effect. Never did think about that till now. Guess the brain juices are flowing. :)

Here is a small update.

Fallenswordsman 11-12-2003 09:07 PM

Love the level of detail you've got going on - the nose ring looks a bit mad in how you've constructed it in the wireframe but it seems to work nevertheless. Cheekbones look about right too. Looks like its going to be a great model once finished.

Orc Update

Well guess here is a small update. Sorry for the long time inbetween.. As i was learning and correcting the edgeloops thing. Well hopefully the next update will be the finished one.

voices3d 16-12-2003 04:31 PM

ummm... the eye. The eybrows are laying over them, covering them from sight, on your model it looks like they are that little. but it might just be me
