Hi guys,
I am new to lightwave, here is my first sub-patch modeling - inspired by the speed modeling at CGTALK.com |

and a quick render
|
For a first sub-patched model this is quite astounding work there:)
One crit though, it seems a bit polygon heavy in some parts, |
I'd agree that the model is rather polygon heavy. You should be able to quite dramatically reduce the polygon count and still keep the object definition with subpatches (simply up the subpatch level in Layout if required).
Also, I'd say that the ears are rather unfortunately large (although I suppose that could be the intent) :D Over all though an excellent first attempt at subpatch modelling. |
I agree with the others, the mesh is quite heavy which will make it very difficult if not close to impossible to make changes to it if you would want to.
Otherwise its great modelling, especially for a first attempt :D |
Soreel i checked out your website and it contains some amazing 3d models:)
Totally loved your 3D Machines! |
I like the big conk =).

thanks guys!

hi guys, thanks for the feedback
I still have the model as a low poly version - the one above was subdivided to get a good render. Here is the current version. I have also reduced the size of th ear a little bit - initially I had wanted to make a character with large ears - similar to Mr. Bean. |
What a Shnoze, lol great work
|
that guy really looks alot like a guy from India I used to know.. maybe it is him ;) good work
|
Awesome work Soreel!
Digi: he kinda reminds me of a guy from Egypt that I used to know. hehe |
Remides me a little of the Pixar-character Geri from Geri's game...
Really sweet :) |

wow, it seems like ages since last I visited this forum.
What brings me back after such a long spell? well, besides the fact that I have my version of Lightwave 9 installed and ready to rump up and the addition of Zbrush to my work flow. |
Welcome back soreel! looks like age has taken a toll on your character as well ;)
