Product Illustration :: iMove SVS-2500 Spherical Video System
Hi All,
I work for iMove, Inc. (That name might ring a bell for a couple of you.) We developed a spherical video camera. Recently, I was asked to build a 3D model of it for illustration and promotion purposes. I receieved permission to publish the artwork, so here you go! http://www.reflectionsoldiers.com/re...0_front_lr.jpg (Click here for a super-sized render...) (Click here for a supersized render + wireframe...) Here's the other side of the camera: http://www.reflectionsoldiers.com/re...ight_lr_wf.jpg And here's a closeup: http://www.reflectionsoldiers.com/re...seup_lr_wf.jpg The polycount is pretty high in this model, but I need to mention that it's meant to survive being rendered for a tradeshow render. I printed it at 17" the other day, and boy did it look nice! Curious at what it looks at print resolution? Have a look at these earlier renders: http://www.reflectionsoldiers.com/re...e/svs-2500-4k/ (warning: These are a couple of revisions old.) Enjoy! [Edit: Oops! Forgot to mention this was rendered with Lightwave 7.5c.] |
Wow that's sweet :)
|
Very nice work.. just out of curiosity, what is a camera like that used for?
|
excelent work !
|
Ditto DigiMatt. What is that camera used for? I bet it'd be great for HDR images. :D
|
I just saw the wireframe, and it's extremly highpoly...how long was the render???
|
Omg how good does that look. Keep up the good work.

Man there should be more smileys here,,, like at sm. Well simply rocks... :) :) Hope one day, i get to do stuff like that... If i do get something like that,,, then prob... will have a change in working lifestyles... Hehehe.... Very nice dude.

Thank you all!
@DigiMatt: Well I can't go into a whole lot of detail. It's good for capturing environmental detail. One of the most interesting uses we've had for it was for mounting it on top of a car and driving around. The resulting footage can be quite useful in giving people an idea of an area without having been there. @kumar: Hehe I get what you mean. But hey, why not pick up something interesting in your house and make a model of it? |
Hmm, thats a thought. :)
