Hi there guys,,, after some time, looked at this and was amazed that all that was done in lightwave.... Really inspired me to work harder at it... Not sure if anyone watched this movie before.. Its free for download to watch.

There is a few seconds(many few) runner of just black screen, fooled me too.

THAT WAS INSANE!

At first i was like hey cells thats cool, looks nice. Then I saw the city and my jaw dropped! Absolutly INSANE!

Half way into it I was thinking, I wonder if lightwave had anything to do with it, then the credits at then end I was like....

Very nice, I think I have found a new screensaver....

As cool as a movie like star wars. Never knew that lighwave could produce something like this... till i saw this. :)

Ya, the first few seconds are black, then the cells thing,, then the awesome city in its full glory.

Is there a limit to the model size lw can use? that was huge?!
And is there a special lighting rig used there?

Magic jaw dropping stuff :) love it.

Hmm. There are limits to what Lightwave can handle, but in reality your PC would probably choke before you actually hit those limits.

I'd imagine that the whole thing was rendered in several separate segments and layers, then composited together.

FYI, this is taken from the appendix in the manual:

LightWave Limits
  • unlimited points and polygons per object
  • 1,023 points per polygon
  • 4,096 bones per object
  • 32,000 cameras per scene (see note)
  • 32,000 objects per scene (see note)
  • 32,000 lights per scene (see note)
  • 65,536 object layers
  • unlimited images
  • unlimited surfaces
Note:
Because of memory considerations, the available number of cameras, objects and lights per scene is set at 100, 1000 and 1000 respectively in the lw3.cfg file. The values may be increased - within the limits above - but not decreased below 100; however, this will require more memory, so keep the new values as small as possible. Do not edit the cfg file while Lightwave is running.

Thats totally overkill in't it!?
I seen transitions in the thing, fade to white, black and to fog. But look at the scale of the models!!! Massive.
