Car Concept:: LW for engineering

Who says you can use LW to do concept engineering???

Anyways, I post this as a WIP I'm doing with a few fellow engineers on a kit car. I'm doing preliminary styling designs in LW.

Basically, a 450HP V8 monster, crammed on a 95" wheelbase and a short 60" track

man i am working on a car atm. im having troubles keeping my lines tidy i got so mant 5 line joins, but you dont, gj.

duderender 08-03-2004 03:52 AM

thanks folks!

I'm not happy with the surfaces yet. I am busy roughing it in.

@Fallenswordsman: no this is poly-extend method. Although, I do like to use splines to give nice guidelines. Not sure why I didn't this time.

@arma: thank you!

@Techi: start simple. sometimes, a box is your friend. to rought things in, I start with a flat box and hit tab. Then I use David Ikeda's point extender to start my flow.

i'm kinda scratching my head on this one, I dunno how it came to be but it just did.

duderender 09-03-2004 09:53 AM

ok, prepare for something.... different?.... i will take a break and evaluate the three and see what I can take from each to create something cool. Please give me your feedback and let me know what you like of each (or don't like)

I like the outlook of the whole car except for the cabin part. It makes the car look very old.
Just my opinion though....

H.I.O.M 09-03-2004 11:30 AM

Looks awsome dude...I love it...:)

duderender 09-03-2004 05:14 PM

@R41n: I agree, this one got a little to "european" on me. There is a few aspects that I do like, but I need to get back to the harder edged muscle-ness that I want to portray.

Then again, maybe this is the British model to sell overseas!

@H.I.OM: thanks! stay tuned.

care to share what settings you used for the paint reflection to look so nice
im having a hard time finding a good setting for the paint on my ferrari

I really like the whole backside on concept #2, along with lights design. Even the cockpit fits nice with it. Real good, man!

duderender 12-03-2004 12:00 PM

OK! This one took a little longer than I thought. I've color coded patches where headlilghts, brakelights or a grill might go
