underwater caustics
1 Attachment(s)
hey, i`v just really started using Lightwave 7.5, was a 3d Max user for a bit. Now am making an underwater animation, and i`ve tried using volumetric lighting, light projections as well, and i cant seem to get the effect of light hitting the surface of the water, and reflecting on the sea bed. Anything i try is render intensive, that doesnt matter really, its getting it to look right. Any idea, tis hard. :alien:

Hmm.. not entirely sure, but as a first bash I'd be tempted to pop an animated procedural (or image map) onto the colour and possibly luminosity (although faint) channels of the sea bed. Make the colour of the caustic areas gradient in from deep blue to white...

thanks for that never thought of actually effecting the sea beds material.

How does it look? I'm curios!
