Timing particle Effects?
This might seem like a really daft question, maybe i need sleep. I've been messing around with particle effects recently, I've been trying to create sparks. I've managed to do it ok, but i've realised that all the tutorials that i've read on this all assume that the particle effect will begin from frame zero.
How do you set an emitter to emit at a time other than the start of the anim? I've tried shifting the emitter to another frame in the scene editor, but this doesn't seem to make any difference. no laughing please, i'm just really tired. :) |
In the fx_emmiter in the generate by drop down list set it to generate by frame. Next in the Key effect drop down set it to key. Now every key you set in the timeline with produce the particles. Now just set keys where you want the bursts of particles for the sparks.

great, thanks! :D

You can leave it set to key and change the generate by drop down to something like say sec, then on the key you specify it will generate the particles by second at that key.

Right, i see. I'll give it a try just now.
