no alpha
 
i can't seem to get a alpha image. model is a bridge.
i can see the alpha in the image veiwer,but won't save.
i tried it in output files,but i only get a color image.tried .psd file, .tga file.
tried selecting all objects and render and no good.
whats wrong.i can't find an answer in my manual.

You need to select the Output file in the 'Save Alpha' part of the Render options panel (Output files tab). Note that this will only save from performing an F10 render.

If you want to save from an F9 render, then you need to select a 32bit image format, then extract the Alpha channel in an image editor such as Photoshop.
