i got DFX with LW,wich is cool, but what program is best for putting it all together? i have screen blast movie and can get it in there for sound but the output is really bad.real dark. what program will deal with a file seq. after dfx or LW? also have vegas video, but still the output is real dark. i tried out put from LW as a mov. file and looks good but can't get that into vegas.tried avi but the final out of vegas or screenblast looks dark, real dark. have any advice? thanks scott windows xp |
It depends on what post work you want to do. If you are looking to edit your video from DFX together with sound you need a video program like Vegas or Premiere Pro.
For the darkness, it depends on where it is coming from. Is it bright until viewed on a regular TV or is it dark on the computer monitor? Are the original stills bright? IT the stills are good and the playback in Vegas looks good, it must be a compression or encoding problem. If you can output to a .mov from Vegas, try a Quicktime file using the animation codec. Because this is such a good deal I'll mention it. A company called ADS sells an A/V box for firewire. It lets you import and export digital and analog video and preview your work on a standard TV. They have a package called the Pyro A/V Link Pro that included the box, Premiere Pro (NLE), Encore (DVD authoring), and Audition (like Acid on steroids). Safe Harbors sells it for $550. That is about $1800 worth of software and hardware. I bought mine about a month or so ago and it is well worth it. |
Wow - that is a good deal. Is the box NTSC only, or will it run to a PAL TV over here in Europe Cory?

Looks to be both - http://www.sharbor.com/products/ADSN5010010.html
The only thing is that it would come with a 110v power cord so you would have to deal with that. If you go to ADStech.com you can get a list of places to purchase in the UK. Looks like it is about 350£ +VAT. |
I reinstalled vegas and it better. as mpeg or q-time. as for avi it's garbage. must be my conpresstion settings.can you recomend a good codec? scott
