you should never open attachments like

Norton AntiVirus - Virus deleted.txt                                                .pif

or

fungame.com

or

any other attachment from e-mails you didn't expected ;)

This is one of those times I'm happy that I use a UNIX based email program. I seldom get attachments anyway, but at least with UNIX, I know I'm more secure from nasties than I would be on a Windows box.

I'm quite proud to say that in over 17 years of using PCs, I've never, ever been actually bitten by a virus.

However, it is a royal pain in the a$$ to deal with, and it seems to me that recently the amount of viruses and spam floating around the internet has increased dramatically. The most disturbing part of it is that most of it now seems rather too well targetted as well...

Dark days indeed...

I like my hotmail account never gotten a virus through them.

Just another reminder

NEVER open an attachment from us unless the email is digitally signed from Myself or david

we NEVER send attachments so please stop emailing us saying we sent you a virus - check the header and you will see that it is NOT from us.

Thanks

I have had like 8 virus's per day recently... whats up? I love norton for helping me through it all :)

makes me wonder who actually make all these viruses that the wonderful mcfee and nortan sudenly have all the cures for,

Im sure if these companys got a little low on cash that more would suddenly appear. Yep a conspiracy theory but one I really believe in

virus links

I don't know if this does anyone any good but there it is.

I understand that Symantec announced that they created a 64bit virus, just to see if they could.

As another disturbing thought, back around 1988, I had a friend with an Amiga, he bought lots of games and apps. One day he got a virus checker (At this point I had never heard of such a thing). For fun (I guess) he scanned all of his store bought disks, and found at least 1 virus for every 4 disks he checked. That shouldn't be possible.
