ZBrush Time Lape Video

Wow,,, was watching this and was cool to think weather we can model such details as fast... Well very interesting to see the strokes and so on. The model looks cool too.

There is a lot of hoo-ha about ZBrush at the moment due to the release of the second version and I have to say, it does look a pretty amazing modeller - I tried the demo and couldn't really get to grips with the interface. I don't know how long it takes to get used to, but I just couldn't get my head around what the heck I was doing. There are quite a few outstanding models coming out of the ZBrush camp although what you have to understand is that the poly counts they end up with are pretty looney as well!
One guy who mixes both Lightwave with ZBrush is an artist called Southern (I think that's his last name)

Definitely an interesting little package.

Hmm,, interesting... well think you are right about the polys,,, man,,, 2 million.. is like crazy... But think they now have things like displacement maps to downplay the number a bit. Not sure how that works. Hmm,, does any movie or production actually used it.... is it a practical one.. thats another question.

Whatever you export has a large poly count... Lightwave won't support that type of sub-pixel displacement, so you're forced to set a crazy subdivision level at rendertime.

Weta used it in LOTR, I believe.
