Looking good - don't know if missiles are that reflective but having never seen one up close then I wouldn't know. Its also a bit dark to pick out details (on my monitor anyway)
|
a bit dark on mine, it looks a bit like a tornado and hornet, seems a little square around the cockpit.

Agreed, the model looks fine as far as I can see, but overall the render is too dark. Missiles themselves are usually (AFAIK) painted with a matt grey surface paint that helps mask their radar signature. As a rule of thumb, you should find that pretty much all miltary hardware tries to cut down on shiny chrome like surfaces as much as possible.

changed the brightness adjusted the reflectivity but I will probably give it completely new textures later...

Mmmm... much better. Can actually see the details now. Not much to fault on that really... As you say, if the textures are to be redone to make it look more realistic. I'd perhaps suggest that the air intakes look a little small for the size of the aircraft - I'd perhaps extend them upwards into the cavity under the wing slightly, or join them up to the upper intakes (unless there's a reason for having a secondary intake of course)...

the plain looks good...maybe you should add some little more detail at the wings!!
how did you create the smoke??? is it photoshop?? |
Here is my humbble oppinion.
The object look good but the render is very poor, mostly because the misiles looks too real comparing to the jet. |
smoke is done in lightwave. I used hypervoxels. I am about to redo the textures. I am unsure of what the air intake is. I am guessing it is the box like object to the sides of the back half of the cockpit glass. I did this whole model from just a front and side view and know nothing about aircraft. This photo is actually for a competition at my school. I am in High School, 9th grade. Also, how would I go about adding the actual jet flame out of the back. I tried using volumetric light but I cant figure out how to get it to show up. All the tutorials I looked for weren't working. I know I have the cone base and height info correct. I'll post a pic of the settings I have it on.

What's wrong?
|
I think the problem is that the plain is blocking the rays of light. so the volumtric light is not visible when rendered. make sure the light can find a way out of the plain and no objects are blocking its way!!!
maybe i am terribly wrong...i dont know!!! but i think this is why it is not working!!! |
AHA! You were partially right. I moved it and it showed up but it was like pure black almost. It must have been there the whole time I just couldn't see it due to the smoke.YEAH!

Sorry 4 no update guys....been busy with school.....textures coming soon!
