No Presets

Hi.
I installed my Lightwave 7.5, and I discovered that there are no presets. how can I install some?

Mark 01-05-2004 03:36 PM

The presets should all have been installed with your Lightwave install. You might need to open and select the requisite panel first (ie: Hypervoxels, Surface Editor, Volumetric Light Editor, etc...) before the presets will show.

I'm afraid you didn't understand me...
In the preset window on the modeler or the layout, all I get is an empty window, the listbox is gray (and empty, too), and the title of this window says "(none)"...

do you have an object open?

open Modeler and an object, than the Surface Editor and than the Presets.

Thanks a lot!

I have another question.
How can I add new presets to my "gallery"?

Create the shader you want, and then double click on it's picture in the surface editor.

No, from a *.pst file to the preset window on the layout...

If you have the *.pst files, then all you need to do is copy them into the correct place in your windows file structure using explorer.

You should find then all in something like

C:\Lightwave\Programs\Presets\...

Ok, thanks, And how do I transform matirials that are in the surface editor to presets?

Mark 10-05-2004 01:31 PM

With the preset window open, just double click the thumbnail...

Nmaster 10-05-2004 05:01 PM

No, The other way...
e.g, to transform the texture of a matirial in the surface editor to a preset.

Mark 10-05-2004 09:38 PM

Yes, double click the thumbnail in the surface editor (or right-click and select save preset)...
