My first paid commission!

This is a 3D Transformer I'm building for someone on a TF message board:

She gave me a basic robot mode design, and just told me to run with it. So I did :)
Total time taken so far: roughly 15 hours.

Awesome model! Got a question. Is he going to have a head and forearms/hands when he is in robot/humanoid form?

Draven 30-06-2004 10:53 PM

Yes, she will. I finished the head earlier:

Sweet looking head dude! Keep up the good work!

PolarBear53 30-06-2004 11:50 PM

How much would one expect to pay for somthing like this?

BTW it's very nice!

Shawry 01-07-2004 07:25 AM

Nice work mate! I like it a lot.
The face is very suited to the transformers style, and im guessing the robot is a Decepticon?

Did the person give u full designs for the transformation, or did u have to make up bits of that yourself?

This looks mad keep up the good work bro.

Excellent work, Draven - I've seen a couple of CG Transformers characters before, but this one, I think, looks the best so far.

I laughed when I saw where the turbines were.
Awesome work man, I hope you get more jobs. :)

Draven 01-07-2004 01:23 PM

Thanks for the comments guys, I am happy with her so far :) And now, a few specific answers to people:
Polarbear53; I have no idea at the moment how much to charge. Any input on that side of things from anyone who has done commission work would be greatly appreciated.
Shawry: I was given 2 sketches of what the character looked like (no transformed mode whatsoever, just robot mode), and told to make her transform however I thought would work best; so the transformation is all mine. When the model is completely finished, I'll post a small animation of her transforming. And yes, she is indeed a Decepticon :)
AverageJoe: yeah, I laughed as well when I saw where the turbines were supposed to be, but that was in her original design ;)
